Weight lose during pregnancy

I always heard you're not suppose to try to lose weight while you pregnant but what does that mean exactly? Like, if you eat healthy, get exercise and all that and still lose weight will that harm the baby or not? I'm five weeks pregnant and I'm seriously stressing over my weight and how big I'm going to get. I just want to lose fat without losing my baby, any advice?

Some people lose a lot due to nausea, but that isn't necessarily bad for your baby beacuse they take all the nutrients they need anyway, as long as you're taking your Prenatal and B12 vitamins. It just means that of course, exercise and eat healthy, but don't stave yourself or eat a little bit but exercise a lot because dieting isn't good for your baby....you don't get all the nutrients.....but if you eat enough, your baby will take his or her nutrients from that.

Usually doctors do not recommend dieting and such while being pregnant. Keeping in good shape shouldn't be bad though. I just wouldn't over do it. Talk to your doctor about it when you start to see one. Good luck!

Well as long as you were doing those things before you got pregnant, it's OK. But it's not OK to start an exercise program after you are pregnant. Loosing weight in the beginning of pregnancy isn't really all that uncommon, though.

Ok, I doubt you'll gain what I did - being 63 lbs.....just eat as healthy as possible - if you crave sugar, eat grapes or oranges (but limit your grape intake because each grape has one gram of carb in them)....exercise but don't overdo it - if you're really out of breath and can't go anymore, DON'T. I wish I would have done all these things because I wouldn't have gained the weight that I did.

As long as the baby is growing fine thye doctor will not complain. You can still eat healthy and excersise...especially if you have done it b4. I currently 7 months still take my preggers butt to the track 3 times a weeek for a 30 min walk ...i go to the gym and work up a little sweat but nothing that will harm me or my baby nothing to strenious. Just make sure you take your vitamins ..but to be on the safe side just bring the topic up with your doctor....

I was jogging before I found out I was pregnant but now I'm afraid to because I lost my first child to a cord accident and I don't want to do anything that would cause that to happen again. But yeah, is jogging safe?

He had two true knots and three nuchal loops. Basiclly his cord was in two knots and was wrapped around his neck three times.

I think sometimes is depends on your weight before pregnancy. I've lost about 12lbs just from nausea and having an aversion to unhealthy foods, but my doctor isn't worried in the slightest. But you shouldn't try to lose weight while pregnant. Don't diet, exercise moderately if you did so beforehand and only be concerned if your doctor says something.
