Quoting B.G. gangster ;): YOU SAY THAT AS IF BLACK CHILDREN CANT NORMALLY BE RESPECTFUL. EVERY RACE HAS THEIR GOOD AND BAD APPLES. ... [snip!] ... THE MEDIA MAKES IT SEEM DIFFERENT. DID U KNOW A BLACK CRIMINAL IS MORE LIKELY TO BE SHOWN ON THE NEWS THEN A WHITE CRIMINALNOOO! I just started to ramble! I didn't mean anything like that. I was just kinda thinking to myself about rosies mission class and how very well behaved Claire's children were that I kind of trailed off a little bit.
Quoting Tara: '08 Honor's Grad!: In my experience, blacks have been more vocal about the quality of edcuation recieved and more likely ... [snip!] ... and more likely to pin it on the fact that they are black and not because of socioeconomic status, where the real problem lies.
Quoting Tara: '08 Honor's Grad!: The past should be remembered so we do not repeat it, but left in the past as to say what people did back then is not a justification of how to treat people now.
Quoting Ms. Von Fate: Hell,my ancestors were still in Lebanon and Germany until the 1950's so I don't quite understand how ... [snip!] ... when the person mad at me is younger than me.I guess it's just human nature to judge and what not, which is unfortunate.Very unfortunate but very true. Humans tend to put themselves on a much higher peg than we should. Judging just comes naturally. We do it without even realising it most of the time.
Quoting RebeccaK: NOOO! I just started to ramble! I didn't mean anything like that. I was just kinda thinking to myself ... [snip!] ... to myself about rosies mission class and how very well behaved Claire's children were that I kind of trailed off a little bit.
Quoting B.G. gangster ;): LOOK DEEPER BLACKS ARE MOSTLY (NOT ONLY, JUST MOSTLY)WHO LIVE IN URBAN AREAS

Quoting B.G. gangster ;): LOOK DEEPER BLACKS ARE MOSTLY (NOT ONLY, JUST MOSTLY)WHO LIVE IN URBAN AREASmy MIL lives in government housing- most of the residents are middle eastern
Quoting Tara: '08 Honor's Grad!: Yeah? What's your point? It points to the low socioeconomic status, which is compounded by droping out ... [snip!] ... in urban areas have less revenue comming in and thus less money to support schools. The problem is not racial, it's economic.a very well worded point.

Quoting Praying for a miracle.: Well in MY experience people blame it on their socioeconomic status. NOT BECAUSE WE ARE BLACK. I guess ... [snip!] ... schools in the country and I didn't come from a good high school. But I guess I got here by leaning on the goverment. I think it was probably more of leaning on your brains and your need to strice for excellence. You should be proud of what you have done. I want to go back to school but I don't have the balls. I'm afraid they'll eat me alive.

Quoting B.G. gangster ;): YOU ARE RIGHT BUT THIS SHOULD APPLY TO EVERY ONE. IF I COMPLAIN ABOUT RACISM, AS I DID IN MY AMERIKKKA ... [snip!] ... THREAD, I AM TOLD THAT I DONT KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT AND GET OVER IT. YET A WHITE PERSON SAYS IT AND IT IS AGREED.I think we can all agree that racism is very real, and is experienced by all races to a degree.Nobody wans to be judged based on their skin color,.and yet some people insist on living up to stereoypes just to fit in to what they're expected to act, dress, talk like.I think if more people were just themselves, instead of being what socirty thinks they are, race relations would be much easier.I do think that special schools for urban kids are a good idea-there is a definite education problem in urban areas which needs urgent fixing-although calling it black focused is just going to cause problems for everyone. I dont know that anyone on either side of the issue can support that without any doubts.
Quoting Ms. Von Fate: I think white people experience a lot more racism than we're ever given credit for, because it's totally ... [snip!] ... was targeted and disrespected quite often. It really gave me a different perspective on racism and race relations in the U.S.
