LMAO! I just asked a question even if it was OT but I didn't see anything stupid about it.... She just keeps spouting off calling people stupid, dumb, and bitch when they all appear to be her attributes not ours! LOL

I think it's doing more harm to teachers than good for students, personally.

I think it's bad to yank funding from schools who have bad test scores: it just makes things worse not better.

I agree. If you look at the situation then you can see how the teachers are overworked as it is. They don't get paid extra for the extra work they're doing and students aren't really responding like Bush though they would. I think they should put that program down the crapper and do something else for children with the money they're spending.

My major problem is that just throwing money at the problem doesn't fix the problem.

Exactley. They need attention to try and improve test scores. I say you don't take a crutch from a cripple.

Definitely-most of the teachers I know work at least 55 hours a week trying their damndest to get through to kids who either have problems learning or simply don't want to and aren't encouraged at home.I think if a child is being left behind, there is more blame to be placed on his or her living situation and attitude than on the educator.Maybe that money would be better spent on a program thatwas based on positive not negative reinforcement

Espescially if you don't even know which problem to throw it at.

Stay your ass in school. Having dedication to a 'free' education has nothing to do with color. (I say free in quotes, b/c it's not really free).

If people are born into a certain situation, then personal dedication and the will to rise above is the best motivation. People always try to make it a color issue. It's not a color issue! Individuals choose how they will react to situations they are faced with. If you choose to drop out, I don't have pity. I had a horrible childhood and still managed to graduate with honors.

Anything that's going to make kids interested in learning, take pride in their heritage (and thus themselves), receive education that is in tune with their culture, and graduate successfully, I'm all for it. The ends justify the means when it comes to education. I don't care how you get a kid to learn - find out what makes him *want* to learn and teach him that way.
