I don't think it's about race at all. I think it has to do with what someone's lazy ass is willing to do. Race is not an excuse for anything.

They do? As far as I know there are white children in inner city schools that get the same treatment as black children and they don't drop out at the rate black students do. I think it might have something more to do with "black culture" and the support at home more than it has to do with the schools themselves.

I think white people experience a lot more racism than we're ever given credit for,because it's totally acceptable to racially slur whites for some reason.I lived in a predominantly black neighborhood for 3 years,and was targeted and disrespected quite often.It really gave me a different perspective on racism and race relations in the U.S.

oddly enough here the drop out rates for black youth are also equal to portugese students.. but no one says that it is an wthnic problem for them

Maybe if they made it a "High Risk Focused" school,people would be a little more into the idea.Include all kids in danger of dropping out.

there are white schools? or you mean wealthy schools?? Not all whites are wealthy... I'm not

First off, there is no need to yell. This is a discussion, keep it civilized  

As for the kinds of schools you are right. But that has more to do with socioeconomic status than of race.

I think everyone is scared to say something. We feel like we have no right to complain because of what our ancestors did. We want to try so hard to prove that we DON'T believe in the same things that our great greats did that we forget to stick up for ourselves. I don't think what my ancestors did was ok but I'M not going to be walked all over and treated like crap for something that happened before either they or I was born.

The fact that black children are more likely to be raised in a single parent household, the hip hop culture and their lack of respect towards women and glorification of violence and uneducation.
