pads/panty liners

posted 13th Jun '12
this might be a silly question, but for all of you who have been through this before, what pads/panty liners did you find worked the best? i want to be prepared and have something that i know is gonna work when i need them!

you mean post partum bleeding? if that's the case then put the idea of a pantyliner right out of your head, lol. Try super overnight pads or even Tena pads or some people even use adult diapers.

You should be able to get maternity pads that are designed for after birth flows   sorry don't know brands in America but it should say maternity pads on the packet

Always Infinity for me are the most comfortable for pads. Pantyliners I only used after I had my son and was waiting for the bleeding to stop. Then I just used what ever was cheap and it worked for me.

lmao. AMEN sister!

You'll bled like a pig. It's disgusting. Super overnight extra long are the way to go for the first 2+ weeks. And TAKE AS MANY of the super hospital pad/sheets as you can. They're like diapers, but man alive I was in the bathroom every hour changing the "regular" store-bought pads.

Also, bring extra underwear to the hospital if you aren't going ot like their little panty hose top underwears. And dont' be upset when it gets ruined.

they didn't give me a bed pad once i moved to a post-partum room. they give you mesh like underwear with a huge pad and they work really well. take a bunch home with you. once you slow down you should be able to just use the overnight store bought ones.

Have your dh/so/whoever is with you stuff them in your bag. They're usually in the drawers in the carts or the cabinets, depending on your room. After you have the baby, they'll give you these GIGANTIC pads, they go in your underwear, not on the bed (grab those while you're in labor) and you should stash as many of those as you can... you can't buy them anywhere that I've ever found, and I looked with each of my 4 kids.   Just keep telling them you need more because you don't like when they get soiled. lol They don't "let" you take them, if you ask for them, they won't just hand them over for you to stick in your bag, but if you take several extra out each time you change yours while you're there, you'll end up with a nice little stash to take home.   The earlier in your stay you start collecting them, the better. lol

I don't know why they won't just give them to you... it's not like they all don't KNOW everyone does that anyway.
