tattoo and breastfeeding

Hi ladies! I've heard several different opinions on this. Some say it's okay and others don't. I know that you need to be careful of infection, and definitely need to go to a clean place.. I guess i'm wondering if anybody can tell me if they know anything about it. thanks!

Some places won't do it.
The risk of infection is the same as if you're not BFing or what not. It's just knowing that in the event you do get an infection, you could pass it to the baby.

So if i decide to pump and dump for a few days after.. how long would i have to do that for before im safe?

The guy that we use won't do it while I bf... and its really not worth the "what if's" to me...

I saw a tattoo artist here on BG lay it out the other day, she said since a tattoo is an open wound it is possible to get a staph infection and that can be transferred to your baby and it can kill the baby. You wouldn't know about it until it was too late. I know thats definitely not a risk I'd be willing to take.

It's entirely up to you. I wouldn't do it though.
I know well and good all the risks that go along with tattoos and piercings, I'm covered in them, I should. I'm willing to put my body against the odds every time I go in. But if I have another person depending on my body for life, I'm not going to risk it.
