People with a work commute of an hour+

Transferring to another location is not an option. If your work commute is at least an hour, would you consider moving closer to the job or just stick it out ? I cant move too far because I share joint custody with my daughter's father.

My husband works an hour away, we didn't move. He just gets up earlier

I would move closer to work. I'm assuming that you only have to come/go to get your daughter once a week? Or every other week?
I think it's better to have a longer drive less often.

We moved closer but were already moving anyway.

That's what I figured, although the surrounding cities are more expensive than the one we live in now. Forgot to mention that. If we did move it would probably be half way.

Yeah we have a weird schedule. I would be picking her up about once a week.

My brother in law works an hour away from his house. He just drives. For DH it's 30 minutes. We all live in the country though.

That is hard I drive 45 min each way to and from work. It sucks soooo bad but moving there isn't an option because my husband has to live in a different city because he works for that city. I make better money, have a retirement fund, and better health insurance. It really sucks in the winter when the snow and ice comes. I do what I have to to do. I like my job too and it's worth it because of the money I'm able to bring home. GL

I live about 45 miles away but I go in traffic to work, takes me 2 and half hours on a bad day and 1 hour with No traffic...
Where I work is not a good nieghborhood... so I would never move over tht way I love where I live tho, and we bought our house so we really couldn't just pick up and leave anyway... if u can find a nicer place closer to work ibwould consider moving...
