How much did your 6 wk old eat?

I ask because my litle guy is breastfed and will nurse normally, except will only take one breast each feeding... (when I try to switch breasts he just kind of gives up and acts satisfied) My concern is when I pump at work I get 2 oz out of each breast. My husband says that Jake will not be satisfied from a bottle until he eats 4 oz. every 2-3 hours! He nurses every 2. So does this sound normal?

DD is breastfed. She eats from one side... Then takes a 20 min break and eats from the other side. She does this every 3-4 hours. From a bottle she eats 3-4oz of breastmilk.

DS ate every 2 hours for about 20 mins. Pumping is not an efficient way to measure how much he is actually eating per session

He eats bw 2-4 oz every 2-3 hours, since I'm trying like HELL to increase
Milk production he sometimes eats formula (he had to in nicu for calories) and eats 4 oz sometimes!

How much you get when you pump is not an indication of how much is actually available for your baby. A baby is more efficient at emptying a breast then a pump. Some women can't pump anything at all and still breastfeed without a problem. As long as your LO gains weight and has enough diapers he is getting enough to eat.

Thanks. I'm new to pumping and I knew that it isn't a good way to measure. I guess I was just worried about over eating. But he isn't vomiting or acting like his tummy hurts so I guess he's fine.  

when i ebf she would eat for about 10 mins 5 on one side 5 on the other evey 2 hours then when i would pump she would eat 2oz every 2 hours now she is ff and at 3 months she just moved up to 4oz every 2 hours

See that's how my little girl was. She didn't move to 3 ounces until she was about 2.5 months and not 4 ounces until almost 4 months. She was formula fed after 6 weeks though. So I am trying to not compare the two.

how long has he been acting like maybe he is growing i know both of my girls would do that at times when growing my 3 month old was doing that on sunday and monday all she want was to eat and sleep so i cant wait to see what her weight and height is tomorrow

Well he just started using a bottle on Monday when I went back to work. And I found out because my husband has been using formula to supplement!!! I don't mind him having formula if necessary but I was like honey!! Just thaw more breast milk. Lol.
