we have section patients who refuse anythign but motrin. Everyone is different.

my first section I had little pain. I took motrin and tyl 3.

2nd section was horrific. I could barely walk to the room door.

It seems the opposite for me. My first I hurt of what I remember since I did use the morphine drip. This time around I just feel awesome. I hope I don't start hurting like you said.

take meds! seriously.. even if you dont' hurt.. take them. It takes LESS pain medication to KEEP pain down than to get it back down when it hurts.

I was in bed from Sunday morning at like 4 am until like 1am Tuesday morning between labor then surgery.. I thought I was going to die from the pressure on my tail bone.

Yeah it sucked I thought I was going to die. Great hospital really, but their nurses sucked with remembering my pain meds too. I'd have to call for them myself to remind them. I pretty much just called them for the meds and had my husband do most of the helping me when I needed it.

Quoting Dr. Fetus Killa:" Hm... Odd because I've had a c section and I'm sure they're all pretty much the same.... You have the ... [snip!] ... you just had surgery. I remember the pain, and spare me the high pain tolerance because I have a high pain tolerance...."

Lucky you... Here they don't keep you hooked up to pain meds...

As soon as my spinal wore off I was in a smurf load of pain...

This is what my hospital does. No getting out of bed for 24 hours. It drove me crazy when I had my daughter. The second day and third day they encourage walking, and they will not let you go home until you have a bowel movement.

I would be going home tomorrow since I'm doing so well. But from where DD has to have the O2 hood thing over her head we won't be going home atleast until Friday if she's doing better.

My hospital was 24 hours maximum. I was up and walking relatively unassisted after about 14 but I was sleeping for most of it. The nurses came in and asked if I was ready and then just took the catheter out and said I looked like I wanted a shower lol! They stayed to help me get out of the bed and to make sure I could walk the distance to the shower and then said to call if I needed help.

My midwife was a bit annoyed when they saw the bed they put me in though because it was the furthest from the bathroom and anything outside. Apparently they were meant to put me into a 2 bed room closer to the nurse's station so I got to go to one of them for my 2nd and 3rd nights.

This is exactly how my section went! At one point I elected not to pee until I got my pain meds kicking in, because I tried and was screaming in pain! Please be careful!
