I thought about looking at covers for these flats but I know how my brain is. If I see it I want it yesterday.   oh but the flats are coming in handy already. I just changed dd and she peed right when I got the dipe under her. I was able to take out the soaker and put on a flat and use the cover still!!! Reducing my carbon footprint

Alright, so I want to get my newborn stash started. I know I'll need about 24. What did you ladies do for your newborns?

I really don't want to spend too much money on diapers that he/she will be in for just a little while.

I was thinking either a diaper trial or getting all Alvababy's, but I'm not sure if the latter would be a great idea.. they're cheap, but unsure about quality.

Im just going to do prefolds/boingo/snappi with a cover over for when we have a NB.. i'll add a fleece liner so it stays dry against bubs skin too. - also a cheap option which is good since they grow so fast!

Alvas arent consistent in sizing and can be hard to stuff from what i've heard.

Knowing me i'll probably go nuts & buy tons of cute fitteds etc too LOL!

I got all alva newborns, I only got about ten though since1I knew my baby would be over 9 pounds and not in them long, 2 I was washing and 3 I'm cheap as smurf. And broke as smurf too.

As someone else said, sizing is really inconsistent, not really in the waistor rise but in the width of the crotch. They've done the job just fine for us though my babe is 7 weeks and he's almost out of them at 12.5 pounds

Holy engorgement this morning! Beckham only woke up once last night, I just pumped 9 ounces out of one Boobie!

Are u planning on washing daily? If so 24 NB is overkill IMO. I had about 15 and wash daily. My LO is 8 lbs now and I can get her in OS. They look huge but they work. Now I discovered flats and kinda wish I'd have just used those NB with a cover.

Lmao!! Scarlytt did that too. I fed her around midnight and she didn't wake up for a long time and my one boob was so hard that she didn't use the previous feeding. She almost wasn't able to latch haha

I recommend flats or prefolds if you want to go cheap.
