I just use singer layer fleece. Basically a large bit of fleece cut into rectangles. As for a solution you can use plain water. If you want to add some stuff to it cooking grade olive oil acts as a moisture barrier, apple cider vinegar to combat yeast, a few drops of tea tree oil and lavender for scent and natural calming and anti-bac properties. Just mix and match but go easy on the tea tree and lavender, you don't need much. If they're really caked in poop you can add a little bit of baby wash to one of the wipes them wipe it off with plain water or the solution you've made. You can also add a little coconut oil instead of olive, although it would have to be made warm or kept warm whenever you use it as it sets easily.
While they're poops are still runny I don't spray off poop, I just stick it in the washer as the poop soaks in the inserts anyway. When they're poops more solid you can spray it off but its gonna soak in when you get the wipe wet, so I'd just wack it in unless it has some nuggets attached lol.
Spray is fine, or you could ore soak a few and keep them in a wet bag or wipes box. I have 60 small rectangles, it depends on how much they poop too, its trial and error with how many you'll need.

I use cheap baby washcloths and water with a little baby wash in a spray bottle. I generally try and get most of the poop off the wipes as well.

Must brag about my kid. She knows where the diapers are, both cloth and disposables. She took all the disposables that she could reach and put them in the trash can. Then tried to put her cloth diapers on her babies.
