Now that I've been paying attention when we use alvas and BG his rash starts fading. It flares up again when I put on a cartoon

That's really bizarre. Alva's and BG pockets are suedecloth inside, like the cartoon dipes.

So, Aurora's ammonia rash never went away, so we stripped with RLR and put her in disposables for the time being. It's going away pretty quickly, but I have a question about that. With RLR, the package said to put the RLR on the diapers (clothes, whatever) and use detergent like normal. But I saw online to use RLR without detergent, and do multiple hot rinses afterwards. Now I'm thinking I pretty much wasted that RLR packet. What's the best way to strip with that?

Also, Mirabelle (If you guys didn't see, I had my baby, and she's a girl!) is in cloth now, and her diapers stink. Like mildew-y, not completely dry kind of smell, if you know what I mean. How do I fix that? I can not seem to wash these things right! :/

Oh no!! That sucks. D: What kind of fabric is on the inside? Is it something that's unique to the cartoon dipes? I hope he gets better.

Some people just use it the way it works best for them. Did it seem to work either way when you did that?

And congrats! As far as her diapers go, what kind are they? May be not getting dried enough? I had that problem a couple of times with my really thick prefolds. I just make sure to dry them longer.

We haven't actually put them back on her yet. I want that nasty rash completely gone. She had these nasty blisters that turned into CRATERS! Like raised and open. I hated it.   my poor girl. I want it gone before I put her back in cloth.

And Mirabelle's trim pocket diaper is the one that really stinks. Her AIOs have been drying on our drying rack for TWO days now! I turned them inside out and have a fan blowing on them, like always, and for some reason this time they aren't drying as quickly as normal. Her prefolds dry very quickly.

Poor guy   that is really just odd to me that the alvas aren't causing a rash and the cartoons are. They're like the same thing.

An Facebook how happy I was that 12 of my kawaii's came in the mail today and then I get bombed with comments about how they give me 2 weeks before I throw out the cloth and start disposables or how I'm not saving money CD'ing because my water bill will go through the roof and how unsanitary it is to wash poopy diapers in the washer. It's bullsmurf that people can't just keep their mouths shut when people decided to do something differently.

Also, how much did your water/gas/electric bill go up each month after you decided to CD?

Mine hasn't gone up at all. It's just me,DH, and DS. He's 6 mo.

We don't pay for water, but my friend said hers only went up $3 a month.

We haven't had a noticeable increase with our bills, but it's hard to remember what the bill was at 3 years ago
