Origami fold is definitely the best. I have a ton of flats... (most were from when I was a baby!) but they were too bulky on DS's little butt.

Quoting Jessica Cerrone:" Just pick a site and order a whole bunch to try. I chose cotton babies and got prefolds/covers and pockets"

I didn't know where to start when increasing my stash (I just had the one type) then I found a (aussie) site that updates with all the current cloth sales. So I ended up buying a couple of a few different brands as they went on sale and a huge bunch of prefolds in newborn size.

I used velcro diapers with my DS and they never wore out after a year. You just have to do up the tabs before washing (so it doesn't catch on anything) and turn the diaper inside out.

sunbabies are my fave cheap brand

I prefer snaps. Last longer than velcro which tends to wear out. Plus my son doesn't undo snaps but he will velcro. Velcro is a bit more adjustable in the waist.

I personally HATE velcro, snaps ftw!!
The laundry tabs never stay done up so the velcro always ends up snagging on stuff, but Felicity can take velcro off. She never attempts a diaper removal in snaps, lol.
