Your opinion is rude and uncalled for. There is nothing gross about an uncirc'ed penis, and I take offense to that.

Just because your husband hates it and is embarrasesed of it, who is to say that is how your son will feel? Times are a lot different now than they were when your husband was younger and chances are, the majority of boys in your son's gym class won't be circumcised.
Infant circumcision is a violation of human rights. A doctor wouldn't be able to legally perform the procedure on an unconsenting adult so what makes it ok to do to an unconsenting, defensless baby? Because the baby won't remember the pain when he's grown up? Because the parents want it done? It isn't your body, so really, it isn't your choice.

i didnt kno circ was for cosmetic reasons...i have one who is and one who isnt...and best believe the one thts due in 5 weeks aint gonna have his done either

Lol, didn't know I would offend anyone by MY OPINION. if you didn't like it, don't read it. Lol. Don't post on a thread that you could get offended on... she was asking what people are doing with their son, and that's what I'm doing and why I'm doing it. Don't like it, get over it. ;)

My husband is, so we got our sons done as well. Also, we know about 4-5 ppl that we are close with who did not have it done and have had problems...some major, some minor. One of them is my husbands 8 year old cousin and although they give pain medication of course, he was traumatized for a good while after having to have it done at that age. Don't judge those that aren't/decide to not get their sons done though...no ones business but their own!

As a nurse I heard horror stories of babies and circumcision. I heard stories where dr.s accidently cut off part of the babies penis. babies still feel pain. I understand that medicaid insurances dont pay for it anymore so surely this proves that it is not necessary. I took care of pts with uncircumsized penis's and they had no issues. If he wants it circumsized then he can make that choice since the procedure isnt offered by insurance anymore the procedure truly isnt necessary. medically necessity is why procedures should be done. if something is wrong with that skin flap then they could do the surgery.
