re: Premonitions

I do this all the time. Rarely do I find out what could have happened, but I always follow my gut.

One time in particular, I was a driver for a pizza place around here and we have to deliver to some pretty rough areas. Well, one night I had this HORRIBLE feeling about taking a run. I kept stalling and finally said I wouldn't do it. I ended up asking to be cut early. Well, the next day I get a call from the owner's son. The street I was stalling to take the run to had a drive-by shooting. You guessed it, right around the time I would have been there.

I had to come back to this post... My mom just called me and said that Mark, our family cop friend stopped by her work. She said that he just got diagnosed with diabetes and has to go Monday for a test, where they inject his heart with something to make it race. I guess they want to make sure his heart is up to "stat" with everything [he had a heart attack last year and they put a stint in]. So he told my mom that he has a really bad feeling about it, and that he thinks hes going to die Monday. Im hoping its just his nerves, ya know? I really dont want him to die.. hes an amazing guy and has always been there for me..

i haven't had one in a long time but I used to have dreams that would later actually happen -- and when I was a kid I would often predict events, although I can barely remember examples now. My mom just tells me stories.

Anyhow, the one and only bizarre dream-to-reality that I've had was a dream I had at the beginning of my senior year of hs [2004]. I was in an art class and in my dream [which were always black/white and mute] I was sitting at a different desk than the one I was assigned to, in a smaller group of kids, watching my art teacher. She was showing us how to make something with paper and yarn. Suddenly another girl I've never seen before walked into my "feild of vision" and I suddenly felt very sad and depressed. My art teacher then walked away and the dream was over.
Well the year went by, I adored my art class and my teacher [I am now in college majoring in photography] and the end of the year came. The last day our teacher let us do whatever we wanted and gave us a few options -- set out paints, pastels, and said she would show us how to make our own bound book if we would gather 'round her. Thus the dream-to-reality began, and I realized it as soon as it started. I sat in a seat, which wasn't my normal one, and a few other people were around her and I. She showed us how to make the entire book and I figured I was just crazy for thinking something bad was going to happen -- we were finished and nothing bad came of it.
Then a girl walked in, from the office, holding a peice of paper [later I learned it said 'Call sister. Very important']. My art teacher read the note, stood up to leave, and panicked and told her 'I don't know what that paper says or where you're going or what you're going to find out but... it's bad. Whatever has happened or is going to happen is bad. Very bad. And I'm sorry.'
Anyhow, I must have freaked her out because she suddenly rushed out of the room to a phone. She didn't return that day or the next.
Finally I asked another art teacher about her and turns out she called her sister and found out their mother [who was about 70ish] was beaten, raped, and robbed in our own house [no, I'm not kidding. disgusting I know]. Of course my art teacher was extremely upset.
When she finally came back she thanked me for warning her. It was a shock anyhow but she really didn't expect anything until I warned her.

Since then nothing major has happened except for smaller dejavu occurances.

Wow, that is an amazing story. That is what I believe 'promontitions' are, not a gut feeling like what the OP is saying. Everyone can have gut feelings but only a few select of people actually see the future before it happens.

The only other things I can remember is predicting tv shows for my family [not like, what show is coming on next but predict what a new show would be about, at a very young age. before i even had an interest in watching the shows my parents watched -- i'd say 7 yrs old.
And I think it runs in my family -- my mom has experienced a lot on her own and we experience a lot together. The one time I needed 911 called on me [I had a large ovarian cyst burst and was on the floor in pain] my mom happened to be at the hospital I was rushed to. She's a teacher and never has a need to go to the hospital, especially during the day, and I'm in Memphis TN so there are multiple hospitals I could have been taken to, but it just so happened she was there when I was rushed in and the doctor who rushed to help me was talking to my mom. That's not so much as prediction as an example of the connection my mom and I have.

I don't usually have dreams but when I do they are very wild vivid ones that feel very real. Some mean nothing and some end up meaning something.

Back in February of 04 I had awoken earlier from a really bad dream, it involved me and all I remember was that I was upset and very shaken and scared. I couldn't recall what had made me feel that way but as soon as I woke up I had this horrible feeling. I brushed it off as nothing and got dressed and went to school. The whole day I was there I still couldn't shake this feeling I had, and it was getting more intense as the day wore on, almost to the point of me feeling ill from it.

When I left school I called my mom and asked her to please be careful going home and tell dad the same, I told her I had a horrible feeling that something was going to happen but couldn't figure out what it was.

Later that night after leaving my boyfriends house freezing rain began to fall harder, I was used to crap like that so I didn't pay any attention to it. I was driving on the interstate doing about 45 because the roads were pretty bad and about 2 miles from the exit I needed to get off I felt like I was going to puke, and then my phone rang. I answered it and it was my mother who was telling me to be careful the roads were horrible and to put my seatbelt on if I hadn't already. Not even two seconds after I hung up the phone with her my car hit a patch of black ice and I lost control. My car had spun around and was now sliding backwards down the interstate and I was looking at a 18 wheeler head on and was scared out of my mind. I tried turning the wheel just so I could get off of the interstate and sure enough that worked. My car slid into the center between the two interstates and rolled twice. The only thing I could do at the point was clench onto the stearing wheel and pray. I ended up smacking my head on the drivers side window and smashing my knee up against something but other than that I walked away from it.

I have always gotten gut feelings about things, or dreams about something perhaps happening and after that incident I started taking them seriously.

Ive always had dreams that come true. Its just difficult to decide which ones are there to warn me about something, and ones that are there to just bring fear. My mother always said I had a gift.

I have the "de ja vu" all the time. I still haven't figured out if they are dreams or not.

I have also had the 'gut feelings' a lot. I have learned to trust them because they are usually bad feelings. My boyfriend and I went throught a rough patch in December of 2006. I didn't want him to leave my college dorm for some odd reason. I thought I was just being clingy so I let him go. Really bad gut feeling there. This was on a Friday I think. Well, that weekend, we broke up and he started dating my LESBIAN friend.

Then, about a month later, I had a dream when my boyfriend came back to me and proposed to me. I found out about 24 hours exactly later that the LESBIAN girlfriend proposed to him.

Thank God he did get out of that relationship when he did. She was a pathological liar, psycho, and emotionally abusive. It took us a lot of time and work to get our relationship back and to trust each other again. Thankfully, we are going stronger than we ever have before.

It seems like RIGHT before joey's seizures i will randomly think "fuck what if he has a seizure" and nine times out of ten he does.

I shouldn't be surprised by it anymore but i still am.

Is Joey your partner? I used the term partner because I don't know if he's your boyfriend or husband or something. I too, am with someone with Epilepsy. He has grand mal seizures and thankfully has been 11 months free of them and has his permit and his own car now (he's 18 ).

How long has he had seizures?

He's my husband. He has had seizures since he was 2. He has been on tegtretol, Depakote, Dilantin., and for now the one that seems to work the best if not perfectly is Phenytek. I think it works better because it is time release and he is taking only 2 pills a day. Previously like on the Depakote he was taking 1500 mg per day but spread out...he had to take 6 big pills and 2 small pills.

it was a bitch.

What meds or other therapies are working for you partner?

OHh and yes Joey suffers from full on tonic clonic seizures. they suck.

premonition: anticipation of an event without conscious reason

You don't have to actually see something before it happens for it to be a premonition.

When I was in elementary school, my mom was dropping me off in front of school and I was late. I hate being late to anything. It makes me crazy.

My mom was our class helper mom, so she was going to be coming in my class like 5 minutes later after she parked the car, but she was dropping me off because I was so mad about being late for school.

As I opened the door to jump out, I had a feeling I should lean over and kiss my mom goodbye. I didn't want to because I knew I was going to see her in a couple minutes and I was already late. I started to get out of the car but decided to go with my gut and lean over to kiss her goodbye. As I was leaning over, a truck smashed into the door I was getting out of. Nobody was hurt, but if I had gotten out of the car quicker, the truck probably would have hit me.

Matt has had seizures since he was about 14. He was on Kepra for almost 4 years and before he went on is other medicine he was taking about 5000mg a day. He's now on Oxcarbazepine? at 1200mg a day.
