measuring small : [

posted 6th May
so earlier I posted about not feeling well. I finally went to the doctor and my blood pressure was fine and so was everything else except when he measured me he said i was coming up small.
I'm 34 weeks and i am measuring at 31. they scheduled a ultrasound right then and there and that said he was 4.6 pounds which is ideal whieght for a 32 week old.
I'm so nervous.
has any one else had this problem. And how did things work out.
I just want everything to be ok with my little bambino.
this shit has got me so stressed out. and they still cant tell me why I have been feeling as weak as I have lately but I have a bunch of blood tests tommorow so we will see.

Maybe it's your iron. But the same thing happened to my friend Andrea on here and her baby was bown healthy. She just has a real petite frame.

it could be IUGR (intrauterine growth restriction) meaning your placenta isn't functioning well enough.. the baby isn't getting enough nutrients. If so they will almost certainly induce you early because of the high rate of stillbirth with IUGR babies allowed to go full term.. I went through the same thing, was induced at 38 1/2 weeks, and my baby is fine.

As long as your amniotic fluid levels are good and the baby is looking good in non-stress tests, there's nothing to be worried about.

Also maybe your baby is just small... or you're less far along than you thought...

I have this too, the dr. said she is measuring small, and they did a 2nd ultrasound, and they are having me have a third on Friday, although my stomach is saying I am measuring about the size of a 33/34 week pregnancy.. I would just not freak out about it, and see what happens from here out. Continue taking your prenatals every day.. I am sure everything will be fine.

I know how you feel i have a lot of medical issues and a rare autoimmune disease and my little one is measuring 4 weeks small. i am 25 weeks and she is about 21 weeks...it is okay though as long as they are 5.5 lbs and healthy you can take them home!! They also double their weight in the last little bit so don't worry and let me know if you need to talk!!

Hey there, I was measuring 31 at 34 weeks to and 31 at 36 weeks as of my 37 weeks ap I'm measuring 33. Once you drop you measure smaller. My Dr said its ok for me to be measuring small as I started out really skinny anyways and he wants me to have a smaller baby. I don't know the weight of my baby.. My Dr hasn't/won't tell me.. But according to my Dr, baby is happy and super healthy. I would ask your Dr if its something to be worried about. As for feeling weak, you may be anemic or low on another vitamin or mineral. Don't worry to much..Continue to take your prenatals, sleep lots and eat properly!Good luck mama!

Why won't your doctor tell you what the baby is weighing, that seems kind of shady...

I measured both large by two weeks and small by two weeks...all in the same pregnancy! At the end of the day, she came out at 6 pounds 2 ounces at 37w4d, which is a little small, but still normal. I wouldn't stress too much. Good luck  !

he says it just a guess and nothing solid to go by. I asked him about it and he says you can't tell for certain what the baby is weighing...I don't care though, As long as a I feel it move around, and its healthy with a good strong heart beat I'm happy...

I would at least ask for an estimate, or rather tell him I want an estimate. They can't say for sure, yeah, but he should give you a ballpart estimate. They can't even tell you for sure 100% if you're having a boy or a girl, but they still give you an approximation on what the gender is..

maybe you're just having a small baby. my friend had her son at 31 weeks and he was just over 2lbs, nowhere near 4lbs! he is now just fine!
