My advice? Don't rush it. She'll learn when she learns. Forcing it or rushing it will only backfire and both of you will end up frustrated and angry

I'm no help because my youngest PT'd himself. He'll be 3 next month and one day it was like he woke up and smurf diapers and went from there. I'd say he's day trained about 85-90% of the time not night trained.

He's only been doing it for maybe a month or two now. Oh and I praise him whenever he attempts to go, and I don't scold him when he has an accident.

Can you maybe make a potty training schedule? Lke 8am, 10am,12,2pm.4pm etc? Just put her on the potty?

Another thing I learned is if they aren't ready, it's going to be A LOT harder to get them to do it.

I think personally it is all in the way you approach it. It took 3 days for both day and night for my 2 girls to be pt with no reoccurring accidents, and they were both 2 and 2 months.
Me - "You know what, I think you are such a big girl. Hmmm I bet you would be a really big girl if we got rid of the diapers. (in excited voice), do you want to be all grown up and pee in the potty"?!
Then give them a smurf ton to drink, and bring them every 15 minutes to the potty with a book or some pictures and have them sit. If they go give them a treat or sticker and do a ridiculous potty dance. If they don't, and pee or poo on the floor just say "Oh no we better clean this up, we can't have pee/poo on our floor (sad voice) maybe next time."
First day they didn't seem to get it, second day a few accidents, 3rd day they were pros. By a month I was 'too busy' to give them a treat and it was like a good habit.

Now do not ask me how in hell to pt my 3.5 year old non-verbal SN kid-I haven't a clue.

With my son, i just stopped putting diapers on him and just put undies on him. He finally got the hang of it after a week! Though i did have TONS of clothes to wash but it was worth it.

I agree, dont rush it.

Potty training is not supposed to be a "crisis".. If it is, she obviously isn't ready.

That is exactly my thought when I read the title. It made me cringe.

If pt'ing is a crisis, something is very wrong

I agree. I my son turned 3 in April & just got potty trained.
I tried once when he was 2.5 & it was a complete disaster, so I gave up. & I'm so glad I did. This time around, it was a piece of cake. It was so stress-free, he basically trained himself.

OP- It's worth the wait. Besides, 3 years old isn't "too old", either. That's about the average age.

Don't rush it is right! I tried once with my son and he wasn't ready. So I didn't push the issue at all. The very next week he told me he was ready and he trained himself. I made a chart (he loves trains). I made train tracks and velrcoed a picture of his face to the board. Each time he went potty he got to move himself further down the track, until he got to the train station...then we went to the local train shop and he got a cheap train. Making the board took me 5 minutes and that is all I did to train him. He did the rest. If they aren't ready then they aren't ready.
I have a 7 year old disabled son still in diapers...now that is a crisis. A 2.5 year old in diapers is normal....that is NOT a crisis whatsoever.

i know it's not a crisis that's why i put "lol." at the end of it.. it's really not i guess i was being over dramatic lol...

and i hope she does just pick it up because i really think she's ready she's asked to go to the potty and one day i had her on it every 20 mins.. then she literally wouldn't go into the bathroom the next few days lol...i've already tried to just put panties on her and keep reminding her.
