Perineal Massage?

I have a bunch of questions.. New mom here, don't think I'm stupid.. I just don't know and would rather ask..

Did it help in preventing tears/rips during delivery(if you did it)
If you did/do it.. Do you do it yourself or do you get SO to do it for you?
Can you really put cocoa butter in there??

And any other comments you'd like to add, I'd love to know.

I don't think I would put cocoa butter in there lol. I never tore or ripped so I and never did a perineal massage.

Almond oil yes or coconut

Cocoa butter not so much

Okay, So if I don't have any oils or anything.. Can I do it without?

No idea lol I think it needs to be a purer oil

My Doula said to use olive oil. It helps soft the muscles to make birth easier

well i had a second and third degree tear with my second, ive been doin it with olive oil but cant reach any more so ive started with evening primrose oil capsuals you prick a hole in them and insert them and let them disolve, i cant tell you if its worked yet but will let you know as soon as she decides to pop out, also i think if you push to fast or have a fast birth adds to the tearing, thats why i did,

Aww, Thank you, yeah I can really reach it either.. I had SO do it for me last night.. He said he will keep doing it for me to help out.. I will have to try those capsuls too.. Do they sell them at like wal-mart and stuff?

they sell them over the counter at the chemist over here so i should imagine so, i hadnt herd of them till i came on bg, there 1000mg and i started on two then ive put 3 in for the last two nights, do it before bed and id ware a pad cos oil does leak out after a while, but i must admit everything doesnt feel as swollen down there since ive been using them,
