I'm so happy I could cry!

So, not much background to fill in really.

A few months back in Sept. 2011 I had contacted BD of my eldest DS, who is now 9 years old, about paying support again, starting off fresh.

My case was closed a few years ago because we were in the middle of moving to another state (closer to my parents) and in deep financial trouble, so I had reluctantly asked BD if he wouldn't mind keeping DS for a few months until we could get back on our feet in our new place, and allow him some time with his son. Since he was enrolled in a school there my child support case was closed after BD provided documentation that DS was now residing with him. My DS ended up staying with BD a total of 4 months and then moved back in with me after Winter break.

Fast forward a bit... about 2 1/2 years later, Sept. 2011. We never did pick back up on Child Support, it wasn't a pressing issue at the time. BD married and had a baby with his new wife and he ended up being a SAHD while she worked. And I figured since he didn't work I was never going to get anything anyway. Well, my family, including my DH, kept on nagging me as to why I never reopened my case, and I could never really give anyone an answer, I just figured it would be a waste of time and didn't want to deal with it. Despite that, a lot of unfortunate events have come up, DH's job becoming unstable, unemployment, his health, and now he's on disability and we are barely getting by. And now our family has grown to 5 and we are struggling bad. I speak with BD about maybe paying some support again. He's obviously unhappy about this since he does not work, but ends up agreeing to paying $50 a week, but said he would need some time to find a job. I gave him 6 weeks. Again, this was Sept. 2011. April 2012 rolls around and still nothing from him, not a penny. So I said "smurf it, I'm going back to Child Support Enforcement and reopening my case, let them handle it".

I am SOOOO glad I did. Friday I had found out that I will be getting $241 a month, more than what BD and I had originally agreed to. Down side is he is still jobless as far as I know, so who knows when I'll ever get anything, if ever. Child Support Enforcement has even gone back the 2 1/2 years and has added the back support to my case, over $8000! Well, I checked my case today and I'm so happy to see that a payment had actually been made... Surprisingly! Got a nice chunk of change coming and it couldn't have come at a better time, about 1/4 of what he owes! So much weight has been lifted. I thought I was going to have to start stripping or something to pay my bills since DH is still on disability (kidding about the stripping part   ). I just feel so much relief! BD came through and it was definitely unexpected! I just wonder if I should be expecting any more after this huge payment. Trying not to get my hopes up.

if he is not working, how did he have such a large sum of money

BD owes me
5,820.11

which is $328 a month which ive never seen  
thats only for 16 months, I dont know why its not for the 36 months hes been alive

I don't know. His wife contacted my sister (weird) to ask if she knew if I had received a payment yet. My sister told her she didn't know, and then she was told that BD went and paid in person, but the amount was not disclosed.

His wife is 7 months pregnant now and is working doubles at a strip joint as a waitress....... He is not working as far as I know and I haven't contacted him yet since I found out about the credit to my case. I'm waiting until I get the deposit into my bank. Maybe took out a loan, her tax return, or her wages.

BD having his wife contact your sister for info definitely is weird! :-P I am so happy for you!!!! Let's keep our fingers crossed that this isn't the last of it and it continues to get paid... this has been too much trouble from the get go IMHO.
