whats so new about it?

So sick of living in this small town and being looked at like i freakin killed somebody just because i got pregnant before i was 18 and married. Like seriously you see it everywhere nowdays and ppl are still acting like it brand new and just this big unspeakable crime. last i checked everybody could have kids if they want. whats so bad about being a little bit younger than most. Its not like im gonna be some single mom who rather go chase puff the magic dragon than get what my baby needs. I really dont understand the whole reason behind the social stigma its been going on since the '90s. Youd think ppl would be used to it by now.

Teen pregnancy has been happening a lot longer than the '90s.

I lived in a town like that too my whole life until recently.
&If i were to walk in the corner store without my wedding ring on, people assumed we were having marital issues.

!!! My mom was a teen mom in the 70's lol

People are just so quick to judge. I get the nastiest looks because I look really young (I'm only 21 so I am young but I look like 16 on a good day lol) and even though it wasn't planned I had a baby with my husband. Screw judgmental people, I know teen moms that are better moms than some 30 year olds.

Yea i hate how nosey ppl in small towns r its like they have nothing better to do than sit around and see who they can talk about next

I cant even go to the church i have gone to since i was 7 years old because of judgemental ppl like that. Its just so unfair how they preach about how abortion is wrong and then trun around and tell somebody they should have had one, because they dont know what they're doing and they'll never be able to give the child what it deserves.

I agree some church people are crazy (NOT all though lol).my MIL is very religious so we went to church with her once but she wouldn't even let me hold my DD or carry her diaper bag, like she was ashamed of us :/ needless to say we won't go to church with her again!

Girl don't worry about what people say because no matter what somebody is always going to find something to talk about!I can relate to you because I was pregnant my senior year of high school and I went to a private catholic school and so that was a big no no! But I have always been the type to not worry about other people. Just keep your head held high and be happy with you! I am now 21 and my daughter is 4. She is extremely smart and well mannered, I graduated high school, go to college, and had a wonderful job until her father/my fiance was able to bring in enough money to allow me to be a stay at home mom. Now when I look at all of the "good" kids I went to school with they are all in college with not so good jobs and do nothing but party all of the time. They have nothing to show for and most of their parents help them out constantly. For her daddy and I both being teen parents we have come a long way and made sure we prove every one wrong. I see nothing at all wrong with teen pregnancy if you are prepared to step up and be a good responsible parent! Besides a very long time ago it was normal to be married and having kids at the age of 12! So again don't worry about what people say, as long as you are happy with where you are at with your life, that is all that matters!

Dont feel bad. I get dirty looks all the time, although I am no longer a teen mom anymore. I was 17 when I got pregnant and 18 when I had my oldest. And I have only recently started getting dirty looks. Some woman on the bus told me it was a sin to have a baby so young and how she will hate me and stated I was like 15 yrs old....I was with my now 4 month old daughter (happened last week) lol I laughed and told her I was 28 yrs old and she shut the smurf up and her friend started to laugh at her.
