who's online--idle setting?
posted 6th May
Ok, this may be silly, but it's a thought...
I frequently open all gazillion of my topic reply windows to play catch up in various threads in the morning, and then i get called away when Mya wakes up from her nap, or something like that...I leave the window open because i don't want to lose my precious place in the threads, but i also don't want my friends to think i'm ignoring them.
I was wondering if there was a way to show when friends are idle (like they haven't touched their 'puter in 10, 15, however many minutes), similar to on AIM or YIM or pretty much anymessenger. I think it's awesome that you can see when member's you've PTed are online, but it would be nice to know if they were ACTUALLY on the computer, or if they just left their window open.

I have no idea. I don't think so, though. I'm the same way--usually online and usually idle. Or lurking.

Mellie, didn't we test it when the forum switched and found out that it shows you as offline after 5 minutes of being idle?

oh ok, well if that's in effect that'd be awesome!
i just know that like i'll leave my window up by mistake sometime, and then 30 minutes later i'll get a comment on my blackberry like "i seeee you!", so obviously they think i'm online, and i'm not
it's not a big deal, just a little thing i was thinking about.

That's actually a great idea, Ariel! Cuz I have to walk away from the computer a LOT and people sometimes think I'm still there. LOL

Ariel....you have stalker like tendencies don't you? I knew there was a reason we clicked instantly!
It would be handy because sometimes I just leave the puter on and the window open while I chase Aiden down while he is on one of his deer chases. I don't mean to ignore people, but I do....
