Clogged duct..

Effing hurts!!

I took an extremely hot shower and massaged that breast, which wasn't very pleasant. My son is all nursed out and is refusing to suckle, I've tried pumping and it's still extremely uncomfortable. Sorry if I sound like a whiny bitch.  

What else could I do?

I know it sounds funny, but....see if your DH/SO will suckle. Seriously. I read about this in a book about breastfeeding. Since an adult has a stronger suck than a baby or a pump, a lot of times it will help clear the clogged duct.

That is, if you can get him to do it...

this is toltally true even tho it seems wierd its completly true you could also try to suck it out yourself if your boob will reach but just tell so to spit out the milk if he doesent like it funny enough the milk is usally pretty good kinda like watered down whole milk with sugar

I've done lots of hot compresses and my DH tried sucking.. and holy smurf, ouch! I tried different positions feeding my son, and it's still killing me. It's still VERY tender and throbbing. The breast isn't hard, it's soft now.. but still very, very sore. I'm going to lay down now with the warm compresses and see what happens.. How long does it usually take to start to feel better?   Geez, labor wasn't this painful, & I didn't even have an epi. lol

lol a few days at most hun just keep trying and trying give it a break if needed get some pain meds that are baby safe like motrin also keep an eye out on other symptoms dont want you getting mastis hun

I am so worried about mastitis. What are signs? I've heard high temp. and I've been taking that and I'm still normal.

got a snuffy nose small cough or mabe a sore throat achey feelings anywhere else i know flu like symptoms are hard to diagnose from your normal icky feelings that all moms live with but thats why mastis is such a bitch just stay on top of it if the pain isnt curable with motrin and you havent gotten it out for a few days like say three max go to a doc let them hook you up to a hospital grade pump if it doesent work or they say you have mastis some anitbiotics will fix it

Ouchies.. The thought of the pump makes me cringe. lol I get tears rolling down my face from trying to pump here. haha I really hope it starts to get better soon. I had a clogged duct a month ago, but it didn't hurt nearly as bad and my breast felt better within 5 hours from my son nursing. I never needed to do the compresses or even think about taking pain meds. I just took some motrin, so I'm going to rest a bit and see what happens. Thank you so much! *hugs!*

Are you feelin gany better? I never had any issues when I was BFing my daughter but on Mother's day I woke up almost in tears because I had a clogged duct. It hurt soooo bad! It was gone in a few days but I feel ya on the ouch part!
