Shooting Pain -TMI!

So usually durning my period sometimes when it first starts and when its ending I get a really sharp shooting pain up through my butt and it feels like its up my vagina. The pains are so bad, I cant sit, I cant stand and sometimes I cant even lay down. It gets so bad that I want to cry. I want to think its gas but it doesn't seem to be. Does anyone know what this could be or what is causing it and has it happnened to any of you?

Actually I had an ovarian cyst last august on my left ovary. Haven't felt the pain I was feeling then since. If it was another cyst why would I get it every month?
