I wanted to know what some of you thought about this

Can a mother better say whether or not someone is suited for motherhood? some people feel moms are quick to say that someone should not have children but i just think mom knows best since they have kids they know what you need or what it takes and how serious motherhood or parenthood actually is

what is your take on this?

Yes, I think so.
Someone who has experience and has been through something obviously is a better judge of that situation than someone who hasn't.

well sure. anybody is obliged to say this. especially when the child is being abused or neglected. we all have our own thoughts about a situation.

I dont agree.

Some moms have babies.
Decide that they want their old life back.
Leave babies with dad.
Dont care to see the babies for days, weeks, month, years or ever.

To me that is not a mother that knows best.

No one, mother or not, should judge whether a person should or shouldn't be a mom without seeing how they handle a child.

I'm not extremely quick to judge. It depends on their lifestyles before I say anything.
My main thing that gets to me and it's the only reason I'll say someone isn't fit to motherhood is if they are actively on drugs and don't put their child before their addiction (or the people who leave their kids (example: a 5month old little girl) in the car while they run into walmart in the blistering heat.) That happened at the walmart in my town.

Agreed!! I think if you're not a mother yet you can't really understand what it truly takes.

Having only been a mom for six weeks I feel like I know fairly well which of my friends would be frazzled as moms but I
Wouldn't say they shouldn't be moms. But a lot of my friends party a lot and I'm just like "you wouldn't be happy AT ALL sitting around for 6+ weeks doing NOTHING". Lots of females thrive in a social setting

I am not a mom but I am going to comment hope that is okay, anyway to me some moms are just too quick to over analyze someones situation no one is perfect nothing is perfect ... and if I analyzed a pregnant womans life or a moms life I'd find things that are definitely not ideal

lots of moms are not in ideal situations yet they will look down on someone who wants to be a parent really badly

saying thinks like you only have one car are you really ready lol

you are single are you really ready

what if you lose your income.. this could happen to anyone at anytime and you can not predict the future

just think people have no right to really say who should be a parent and who should not ...but that is just my opinion haha

no, having a kid doesn't make you a parent and it doesn't mean you automatically gain some special know everything power. Does experience make people wsier, sure.

I just had my first child 8 months ago, but I am good judge of character and have studied families and children for years.

I've seen really irresponsible people completely change once their a parent.
