It really isn't that bad at all considering most doctors say around 100 mg of caffeine a day is okay. But at least for me the social stigma of having any caffeine at all just wasn't worth it. You know how those other mothers and pregnant chicks with their "no matter what you do, I am better than thou" attitudes are.

I probably drink close to 200 mg of caffeine most days.

There is conflicting research on caffeine and pregnancy, but experts say pregnant women would be wise to moderate their intake. Some studies have linked a high intake of caffeine to increased risk for miscarriage and decreased fetal growth, but a cause-and-effect relationship has not been established. The American Dietetic Association recommends getting less than 300 mg per day, the equivalent of up to three cups of coffee, depending on the brew.

And 300 mg is A LOT. I don't even know many non-pregnant people who drink that much. I checked online yesterday and a 16 oz Monster has 164.

I drink a monster every day. Once I hit the third trimester I got too tired to chase a 2 year old and be pregnant...so yeah. The crash is terrible though while pregnant! I get insanely tired and HAVE to sleep randomly. Lucky for me my toddler still naps!
