Circumcised and not circumcised

I was just curious if anyone else out there has more then one child, one who is circumcised and one who isn't. That's how my boys are. We got my oldest circumcised at the hospital, but we were unable to get our youngest circumcised at the hospital, cause now they only do it the day the baby is released from the hospital, and the doctor that was there that day, doesn't do them. And so I went to his pediatrician and he refused to do it or refer us because he was over a week old (because we were in the NICU for just about a week). So I'm just wondering, how to deal with the subject if it comes up later, about the boys being different. If anyone has any advice or maybe there's some website out there, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry, I'm confused, I have a little girl, so we haven't dealt with that, but find out if this is a boy or girl on Thursday. So if they're over a week old, they won't do it? I am expecting that this baby will come early, and will most likely be in the NICU just like my daughter was, and does taht mean we can't do it?

I would call other doctors and find someone to do it. It shouldn't matter wether he's a week old or a month old. I know I had the option of doing it at the hospital or at the doctors. I decided to curcumcise my son because I think most boys are so why be diffrent if there's no medical benefit to not doing it.

I think it may just have been my doctor, we had lots of problems with him after that, and are no longer his patients, I finally got fed up. He's just very very old fashioned, and doesn't like to listen to anyones opinions. I was told by my new doc that we can still get it done, but with more complications, because he's older, and he's at that curious stage, and likes to take his diaper off, so we're stuck with what we got. But don't stress, like I said, I think it was just that doctor!! Cause our new one is great!

Okay, thanks, I was worried about that now! I am sure we're having a boy, and we have had some discussions about circumcision...I just didn't want our option taken away just because he is born early!

Rocket got circumsized at 2 almost 3 weeks old They actually made us wait until 2 weeks beacuse they said he wouldnt bleed as much at 2 weeks.

It must have been your dr. because my husband didn't have his done until he was 6!! I don't recommend waiting that long since my husband remembers going through it, but what I'm trying to say is that it is possible when they are older than a week.

my son got circumcised at a month old. I dont think it should matter...if all else fails, they'll do it at 6 months and just put him under I think...I'll google it.

my OB is also my son's pedi, he did it...

My son was born at 33 weeks and my ob dr did it but the neonatal doctor can also do it. My poor dad had to get it done at 50 because of problems he was having with it.

Huh, never heard of and OB & pedi!! But yeah, I just assumed the pedi would do it, but usually it's the OB, I just thought kinda funny, I mean are they more accustomed to girl parts? Mine came in and said OK it went fine, you wanted a girl anyway right? LOL he had a good sense of humor.

Yeah, my dad had it done in his 20's after my sis was born, He also had it in a marine hospital Camp Pendalton, CA . HE said it was AWFUL!!!

Yeah, that is what my dad said as well.

My oldest son (13) was circumsized the day after he was born. It wasn't really discussed, it was just 'the thing to do' back then. Ben (4mos) isn't circ'd. I had the appointment made but cancelled...mostly because I was a wreck just thinking about it plus Dave isn't circ'd, so we decided to not do Ben. Zac (my oldest) is from a different father and his dad is circ'd, so I guess that's why it wasn't such a big deal back then.
When we brought Ben home, Zac asked what was wrong with Ben's penis (with a disgusted look on his face, lol). So we talked about the pro's and con's, and about looking like their fathers, etc. He's fine with it now. If Ben happens to notice Zac's when he gets older, then we'll just tell him the same thing.
I was really uneasy with not getting Ben done. I hope and pray he has no troubles with it!!!!!
