Is it illegal to leave a baby at home by himself?

cousin just left her baby at home by himself. she said its perfectly legal. i didnt believe her so i went over and watching baby. but i had to break in to do so.. will i get in trouble if she calls the police or something for me being there

Yes. Here is what you do. Call the police before she does and explain the situation.

Yes it's illegal. You should have just called the cops though instead of breaking in.

What kind of idiot is she...of course its illegal GOD forbid the house catches fire the babys dead....or someone breaks in like you did and kidnaps him...i would have called the cops and had them meet me there so her dumbass could be put in jail and the child could be given to someone who has some damn sense.

BUT breaking and entering is also illegal.
