I can discuss this topic without being downright rude and yes, I have an education above high school. I've completed college too.

I give up though. There's no point in continuing this. I don't think leaving a newborn alone in its own filth and crying is okay but you do since it's only for half an hour or whatever. Call me paranoid or over-protective or tell me I watch TV too much (we don't even have cable, actually...), that's fine. I'll stick to not getting in my car and leaving my child alone while I go out to do whatever. When they're older that's fine but a two month old? Nope.

I'm pretty shocked this woman is still arguing her point. It's parenting 101 that you don't leave a baby alone for any amount of time longer than it takes you to pee or take a quick smurf. She's trying to excuse leaving for a half hour. That's absurd. I'm shocked she's a parent at all.

You deserve a nomination for smurftard of the year! You don't leave a baby home alone to go out somewhere for half an hour, an hour, whatever! Just because the probability of something is low doesn't mean it won't happen! God, the worst I did when DS was a baby was go outside for a cigarette occasionally back when I smoked. But even that was only if he was asleep and me right outside the door to our one level apartment so if he would wake up I'd hear it and I could go right back inside in about 2 seconds. Some people don't vaccinate, so what?! Their baby isn't in harms way. Some people have guns, we do. It's called being a responsible person and keeping them locked up and/or put up where nobody else can get to them besides the adults. If you're a smurftard and leave guns lay around unsupervised, then yeah obviously it's a problem  . Nobody should text or eat or w/e when they drive, I think most parents don't but again not the same. If I was OP, I would've called the cops when I got to the girl's house and CPS would be notified right away. She has no business having a 2 month old baby in her care if she just up and leaves it home alone. Seriously, wtf was so important that she had to leave and not take the baby with her or get a sitter first?! FFS get a damn clue! I REALLY hope your ignorance is limited to this and you don't treat your own children like this!
