Due September 3, 2012, Its a boy!

I'm due September 3rd with my first child. Found out its a boy and my fiance is so excited about it. I'm excited too because I always wanted my first to be a boy. This Arizona heat has not been the nicest though. Nothing major caused by the heat just get really tired fast and want to stay in the cool A/C. But that's really not my style. If I'm awake I want to be doing something. My next appointment I get to talk about taking the glucose test. Not really sure what to think about it with all the mixed reviews I have heard.

We are dog people and have 4 mastiffs and an Olde English Bulldogge. So we have will have a very full house.

Im due September 5 or 3rd. The doc can't make up her mind   you should come join the September thread. There's some great moms in there! I'm also having my first and its a boy.

Congratulations on having a boy! They're a ton of fun. Pregnancy does seem to suck just a bit more when you're at the end of your pregnancy and you did it through the entire summer but you learn to adapt quickly. I frequently tied frozen washcloths around my neck haha.

The glucose test isnt bad. Not the 1 hour anyways. You have to fast for 12 hours, so try to get an appointment time set up for right after your average wake up time, that way you're not super tempted to eat and you don't have to worry about fasting all day (easier at night since you're already sleeping!) Bring a book with you when you go. Its not the drink that sucks, but rather the waiting. I've had all 3 flavors, orange, fruit punch and lemon lime (whatever) and they all just take like the flat syrup for sodas.

Its surprisingly easy to introduce a baby with dogs, particularly large breed dogs since they're generally less "humanized" and aren't so dependent on their people. That's a thing that everyones really glad about when its done easily haha What kind of mastiffs do you have? I can't wait to get another!!

i think the stuff you drink for the glucose test tastes like gatorade. and i like gatorade, so it wasn't bad at all for me.

Yah I figure as long as I can manage to make it threw all this heat I'll be good. Which coming from someone who was born and raised in Arizona you would think the heat would be nothing for me.

I have heard from many people to make sure to get the fruit punch drink. I will be sure to get that one but everyone has referred to the drink as straight syrup from soda.

We have English Mastiff's. Our female just had puppies about 10 weeks ago and we kept one because I would like the baby to have a dog he will grow up around. Our biggest (the daddy) is 240lbs. We aren't really concerned about introducing the baby to the dogs because they have all been around children and love them. It's fascinating how protective they become.

Thanks You and I have joined that thread. I too have been told my due date is September 3 or 4th. So I got the same thing you did.

Mastiffs are great for that. My boys both came home to multiple German Shepherds so the same thing haha.

Lately I have been getting into random crying spells about things that usually would not really effect me. I find that sometimes I don't even know the reason I am crying for.

My Fiance is so excited that its going to be a boy. We are naming him Daniel Thor (first name is my fathers name who passed away and middle name is his grandfathers name who also passed away). He doesn't have much family left so he was super excited when we found out we were expecting.
I just thought it was funny I am due on Labor Day...well we are due. lol

This is our first boy and were naming him Thorian but we will be calling him Thor.

We will probably call him by his middle name.

I had orange flavored one and it was not nasty but it wasnt good ither! it reminded me of a flat orange soda! you will be fine! just try to get it all in the first try other wise you will have to wait two hours and do it all over again!

Thanks. I am just going to down it as fast as I can. Get it all over with as fast as possible. I can bare it if its just like flat orange soda. I hate the taste of Fruit Punch so glad they had a second choice.
