why or why not? i researched and found a lot of information but i thought id ask and see what other ppl have experienced where they good or bad experiences and how long does it take to heal? is it harder to clean? does it really effect bonding.....? really anything about this would be helpful thank you all

Do research on both and make a decision for yourself. He will be fine either way.

I didnt because while researching I could not find one good single reason to do so. Just about every study is contradicting. I couldnt see why I would change the way my son was born, it just didn't add up to me.

Im glad I didn't. Its a parenting choice I can be proud of. I dont have to do anything special to clean it   I just wash it like I wash everything else on his body.

SO is not circ'd and has never had a problem. Not even a UTI. When it comes to cleaning, he pulls the foreskin back and washes the head just like the rest of his body. It takes an extra two seconds.

I did. But if I could go back & change my mind, I wouldn't have done it.

I didn't have either boy circumcised.

IMO, it's not my body to cosmetically alter without their consent.and it's not medically necessary, so yeah.

Never had a problem with either of my boys.

Hmm, well my son is circd. I don't really regret it. I don't think he'll know any different. I did it for religious reasons, but now I regret that decision to do it based purely off of that reason alone. I did not realize I even had the choice to not circ him. If I were to have any other boys..I am still on the fence about whether or not I'd get him circumcised. I'm not able to have children anymore, so that isn't something I have to worry about.

I did with my oldest and never had a problem, and this one will be circ'd to when he is born. My SO is circ'd and is completely happy that he is. The one intact guy I ever fooled around with, ummm smelled horrible so never again for me. I know its up to the guy to maintain it and keep it clean but I just rather not chance it. Personal choice thats all.

  This exactly!

I knew right from the beginning i didn't want to circ.. i did however research anyway to see what all the 'fuss' was about.

When i bath him i clean it just as i would a finger.. some warm bath water & a clean face cloth/baby wash.. same principal for diaper changes, i just give him a quick wipe over/under.

If he feels uncomfortable with having a foreskin when he is older/sexually active etc and feels its something he wants done then he can make that decision for himself... for 'me' personally its body modification that isn't needed - because of religion etc..

My personal preference may not be LO's so ultimately.. his penis.. his choice.

I did. He healed in like, 4 days. Our bond is just fine. He was in the nicu for three weeks and I can guarantee what he experienced there was far more traumatic Nd painful, and we didn't have a choice in there as to what he went through. Please don't base your decision on google "research" (not saying you or other posters have). Talk to your pediatrician and research from the American academy of pediatricians or mayo clinic or another valid source.

We applied Vaseline to his diaper so his penis wouldn't stick to his diaper but that was all we needed to do. Now we just clean it like any other area in his body.
