Smurf cardio, I've always not been a fan of it. I'm glad to see that I can do little cardio, more lifting, and get BETTER results.

I always felt more accomplished after lifting, but thought that the cardio would melt to fat off faster.

I LOVE Lifting. I don't go too heavy yet since I'm still just starting, but I use free weights. In a months time when I was lifting a LOT I saw a huge change in my body. WAY more then cardio ever did.

Julia, you have a slammin body to start with. I guarantee that you would be looking like a fitness model in a month or two if you started to lift and then I'd be forced to hate your guts.

Girlfriend, you'd lose way more fat if you started lifting. With cardio, yes you burn while doing it but you kind of taper off shortly after your workout is over.
With lifting, the muscle you build will burn tons more fat even when you aren't actively working out. Unless you increase your calorie intake, you're not going to "bulk up" either.

I use free weights. I also do a lot of resistance training and use my own body weight as well. Cardio and HIIT training/interval and circuit training. Love to work out!

I do weights 3 days a week with Les Mills Pump from beachbody.com and rotate between turbofire and insanity on the other days w/ one rest day per week. I'm a beachbody coach. If you want extra support, I have a ladies only group facebook that is awesome!   I don't believe in diets to lose weight. It's a temporary fix that will undo itself once the 'diet' is ended. I believe in portion control and healthy choices always.

That sounds pretty similar to mine. I love changing it up constantly so I don't get bored or complacent.
How long have you been getting after it?

That sounds like a great program and I totally am of the same mind when it comes to dieting. I used to try to control weight through calorie restriction. It never worked the way I wanted it to either.

I have been an avid runner since I was 11 , but never looked into strength or any of that until after I had my 2nd, 5 months ago. AFter I had her, I decided I would get strong, not just skinny. So I started 3 weeks post partum after I had her (I have always been active the the Dr okayed me) and have had amazing results!

I actually just took these today :

Now, instead of running, my fav form of exercise is interval training !

I am horrible at tracking calories!!! I just upped my protein and eat healthy carbs and lots of fruit and veggies now and make sure to workout. No alcohol or red meat.
