You could have had HPV for years and it's just been laying dormant. It's just warts, not Herpes. What did your OB say?

You'll be fine during the pregnancy. Once you have LO they'll do a pap smear (sp) to see if you have cancerous cells..

I know people who have had warts and although they say it never goes away, it did for someone I know and her paps are normal now. Don't freak out too much, you will be ok. Do you know who you may have got them from? I would tell him so he can get checked out as well. I have had HPV but it wasn't a kind that causes warts and it went away on it's own.

I read that like 80 % of people wil get it at one time or another... My best friend got hpv (tho not the wart kind) and the doctor told her not to worry about telling any sexual partners she may have in the future because they probably all have been exposed to it already. My sister's obgyn told her if everyone got the vaccine then she'd be out of business. It's so common.

I have a friend who found this out to while she was pregnant with her last and all they will do is give you some medicine around 38 weeks you take until you have the baby. The medicine will help you not have the breakout when you deliver. You will be fine!!

I'm not sure about YOUR case but...
With my son, I was tested for STDs before pregnancy, when they told me i was pregnant (I had no idea), and then once again.. all came back negative. Blood tests, negative. Everything.

At 20 weeks, I started noticing I had some skin tags. They were on my neck, like along my shirt line, one in the crook of my elbow (that's still there) and then 3 or 4 on my crotch. The doc did a cervical check (no idea WHY since I was 20 weeks) and I said "Oh I have a few skin tags too.." He said rudely "No, those are warts. You have HPV." I was mortified. I cried and apologized to SO, thinking I had passed it to him and got it from my ex before SO and I got together.
36 weeks I started dilating like normal..no contractions though. Weekly checks and I stayed at 2cm. Pretty typical for a slow process with first labors and all.
40 weeks on the dot, my last check, and he told me "oh you still have the warts, you NEED a c section." Told me there's a .01% chance of passing the virus to my son through his eyes if I had a natural delivery. Told me "If it was ME...I'd get a c section, just to make sure I didn't give my son that disease".. Basically guilted me into it.

It came down to I switched from private insurance to medicaid and they didn't want me as a patient anymore because my insurance was known to not pay fast enough.

He NEVER tested the 'warts', NEVER gave me medication like he said, and NEVER spent more then 2 minutes in the room. I ended up with an unwanted c section at 40+1 weeks.

2 weeks later...the 'warts' were gone. 6 weeks PP, I had my birth control put in and was given an STD check.. negative. Was tested about 8 times before I got pregnant with my daughter. All negative.

I never had HPV. I had skin tags. HPV CAN show up years after exposure and pregnancy can make it worse. BUT...if you do not believe they are really warts or HPV or any STD...get a second opinion. I was guilted into a c section because I trusted my doctor.
