Sushi?

posted 5th May
Just why aren't we allowed to eat it? I know plenty of women who have and nothings wrong with their babies.

Raw fish only. You can have sushi with cooked fish in the rolls. But only because you can get sick much more easier

My fave sushi is the real kind though. Raw fish. I would never eat the sushi you can get from Wal-Mart and stuff like that. But a nice restauraunt. Places like that. I just want some so bad.

I think you're supposed to actually (at least my dr said this) stay away from fish in general because of the rising mercury levels in fish. Mercury is an accumulative poison and while eating some won't hurt you the baby is so much smaller than it can possibly have a negative developmental effect on them. I want it all so bad but I don't want to take the risk!

There's only five different kinds of fish to stay away from, and for the life of me I never remember what it is, but I know Tuna (albacore) is one of them

Well most CA rolls aren't made with real crab, they are made with a crab substitute and that is pollock and I know that that's not a safe fish.

Either way my dr said no fish period for me

I keep reading tuna is fine, as long as it's only once a week. Like someone else said, small amounts are ok just don't OD on it. Lol ... I really miss sushi too

I think the main fish you are supposed to stay away from are shark, mackeral, etc. You can look it up online for more details.

MMMM...sushi and red wine...I can't wait!!! LOL

Hahahahhahahahahahahhahahahha (ready both stories)

1- Fish

Oily fish is good for your health but we need to limit the amount that we eat because it contains pollutants, such as dioxins and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). If you're pregnant, you should eat no more than two portions of oily fish a week. Oily fish includes fresh tuna (not canned tuna, which doesn't count as oily fish), mackerel, sardines and trout.
There are a few types of fish that you should avoid eating while pregnant, and some others that you should limit the amount you eat. Limit the amount of tuna you eat because it contains a high level of mercury which can have a damaging effect on your baby's developing nervous system. You shouldn't eat more than one tuna steak, or four medium-sized tins (about 140g per can) of tuna a week. This works out at about six rounds of tuna sandwiches or three tuna salads.
Avoid eating shark, swordfish and marlin as these fish also contain a high level of mercury. You should also avoid eating raw shellfish when you're pregnant. This will reduce your chances of getting food poisoning which can be particularly unpleasant when you're pregnant.

2-Should pregnant women eat fish or not? Previously, pregnant women have been warned against fish consumption due to the possibility of heavy metal poisoning, but a recent study published in The Lancet indicates that the advice to limit seafood consumption could actually be detrimental and that the benefits of fish in the maternal diet outweighs the risks. Women who ate more than 340 grams per week of fish or seafood (that’s 2 to 3 servings per week) had smarter children with better developmental skills. Children whose mothers ate no seafood were 48 percent more likely to have a low verbal IQ score, compared to children whose mothers ate high amounts of seafood

I agreeeeee! OMG And 4th of July, My dad's taking my son, since he'll be born way before that lol., and IHOP had a drink for Horton Hears A Who, and we're remixing it! I think others should try, too.
It was sprite with ice and blue and red jello cubes. Well, they'll still be red and blue jello cubeswith ice for red white and blue, for 4 of july, ya know, but the jello cubes will be jello shots hehehe
