How would you feel?

My cousin went to her first doctors appointment today, she was not really sure what she was going to do, as to keep the baby or abort, she's only 6 weeks along. Well when she went into the ultrasound room. she asked the tech if she could get her mom before she did the ultrasound..well the tech was pretty rude and said, umm..this isn't that kind of ultrasound since you don't know if your keeping the baby...well my cousin went and got her mom anyway(from the waiting room) her mom was PISSED!!! No one should say that to anyone, and then she asked the tech for a picture, and tech said if you decide to keep the baby you can have the picture...WOW!!! I think this tech needs a new job!! Any one think the same?

sounds like the tech was pro life and pushing her views on your cousin. Regardless of the situation, she should keep her comments to herself, and do her job.

yeah she should have probably been professional and not said anything like that.

No matter what the tech thinks she needed to just keep her mouth shut. She needs to find a job where she doesn't have patients or customers. She does not do well with the public.

Not her place to say anything like that at all.

That's insane! Shouldn't the tech be ENCOURAGING her to have the pic, and to look at that ultrasound a LOT, so she'll want to keep the baby?!?! Honestly, even if the tech doesn't care one way or another if she aborts the baby or not, in this money-hungry world, if she keeps the baby, that's more income for the tech (future visits and such)!
What a jerk! I'd be calling in and complaining about that person!
And I don't think it sounds like the tech was pro-life at all! If he/she was, then there would've been a HUGE emphasis on "look, there's your baby's head... Take this picture, isn't it sooo cute?!?!"

she is keeping the baby now, but i mean it doesn't matter. It does sound like she is pro life just because she was being snobby to her because she was thinking about an abortion. People are very mean. This was at a regular OB/GYN they do it there i guess.

wow. im not really for abortion myself, but thats for me, what other ppl do is up to them. but wow that tech should be slapped! did she tell someone there? she needs to make a call & find out what she needs to do to file a complaint! i would. that discrimination! if im correct i think that tech could at the least be suspended for that, especially if its not the first time she has done it, which i would bet its not.

i agree!

That was extreamlly rude and inconsiderate. I didn't know if i was going to keep my baby and the ultrasound tech asked me if i wanted to see it when i was eight weeks. She was really kind. She asked if she could point things out. She showed me the heartbeat, legs, etc. Her being so kind and taking the time with me probably is one of the reasons i decided to keep my baby.

I would be smurfing livid. People dont have hearts sometimes.

she's 21 but she was just scared this is her first baby and she wanted her mom. understandable. Her mom is calling and filing a complaint with the office & will be talking to the head doctor there as well to let him know he needs to get better staff, well at least he needs to replace her with someone who is more equip for that job
