NEWBORN WITH DRY SKIN!!

My newborn has really dry skin. What lotion do you guys use/d for your newborns? I have johnson's natural and johnsons, the pink one.

i'd advise you to not use any lotion for the first couple weeks while the layer of skin peels. i use aveeno on my 2mo.

Don't put lotion on a newborn. They all have dry looking skin at first, but it's normal and it will get better when that layer of skin peels off.

Oh really? I thought it was my fault that his skin was dry! It's peeling off too.. is that normal?

I have Johnson's with Shea and Cocoa Butter and Baby Magic Lavender and Chamomile.

yes. don't use lotion until it's about done peeling.

yes, the peeling is normal.

because his belly and legs/feet is peeling a little. I was getting worried. He's a week old.

I used eucerine for babies but only after baths

dry skin is normal on newborns because they have just exited a really wet environment and their skin is adjusting

it's fine. i never used lotion on my kids until 1mo.

Do I put baby powder on him? or just do nothing to his skin.

My pedi told me Aquafor if it got REALLY dry.

I have never used powder on either of my kids.

baby powder will dry the skin out more and it is not good for their lungs
