birth control help!

So i am supposed to go in thursday to get the mirena IUD.. at first i had no doubt but then after googling some people seemed to have alot of problems.. basically my main two worries are gaining weight and acne i definately don't need that. has anyone had the iud and had those problems or i also read it can fall out and if you dont know you can get pregnant.. has anyone had any of these problems?!?

I got mine a little over 2 weeks ago,had cramping the 1st day and that was about it..Seams to be fine.

They have you check on your own every so often to make sure it is still there. There are two pretty long strings you can feel so you don't have to stick your fingers in too far. I've had mine about 6 months I haven't gained weight but of the 30 pounds I gained during pregnancy i have only lost 15. My whole life I've only gotten a little acne during the week of my period.

They do say it takes 6 months for your body to adjust to it and just this week I finally had a VERY light period!!! I bleed for 3 months though and after that my period lasted like 10 days each month. But now just a little light red once or twice a day when I wipe and I should be having my period now. Other than bleeding I haven't had any problems which really isn't a problem but annoyed me. i was about to get it taken out. Take ib profin 2 hours before going you can get cramping. And ib profin is good for the 48 hours afterwards too.

Yeah me too and honestly I never really wanted to stick my fingers in and check, but my bf reassures me after we have sex......he can feel the strings but doesn't bother him. My dr. did say that some women get it taken out because it bothers their bf's too much during sex. She discussed it with me at my 2 week check up after getting it. She said she could cut the strings shorter to see if it helped.

I never have felt it(I havent tried)I havent had sex with it in yet because I told my hubby no sex yet.lol..But you cant feel it so i'm always like hmm wonder if its still there because I sure dont wanna get prego again yet.lol

lol yeah i guess you could always do a little check before the act.. i did read theres that string. i guess im just mostly worried about gaining weight i had my second and im sick of being fat so ive been working out and watching very close what i eat to lose weight and i dont want the birth control to mess it up... but then again some of the things i was reading risk wise could have been pretty old and i think the iud didnt used to be that great but im sure its improved

Im pretty sure my doctor said that if it does fall out it's within the first couple weeks because your body is rejecting it or something like that. That's why I went back in after 2 weeks so she could check it. But after that I don't think it's really possible. And another reason for checking is because the strings can go all the way in which isn't good either. Other than all of that I love the Mirena! After 5 yrs I plan on getting another one put in!

I'm keepin mine in 4-5 years then having it taken out and having 1 more baby.Then puttin it back in.haha

I already have a boy and girl so I have no intentions on having another one! But who knows in 5 yrs I could change my mind!

Haha.I'm hoping for a boy next time then i'll be done,if I have another girl I "might" try for one more,who knows.lol

get a copper one. I have one and it has no hormones. you will know if it will fall out,just check to make sure the string is there still
