You can slowly pay it off. It wont really hurt you that much, as if you dont at all pay it.

It can go on your credit report. Call them and see if they will let you make payments.

As long as you are paying on it there shouldn't be a problem

Try to set up a payment plan with the hospital because that can have a negative affect on your credit if it doesn't get paid soon.

It will go against your credit if you can't pay it off. I'd call the hospital billing dept and see if they have a program that helps in cases where you can't pay. Basically people donate money to the hospital and they use it to help people with their bills. I know some hospitals have it, but not all.

My son doesn't currently have insurance either and bills are pouring in from May. So far I'm pretty close to $3000.00. I'm much older than you are and have been in this situation before. If you don't pay, the worst that can happen is they send it to collections and put it on your credit report. I have opted to make a deal and pay $5-$10 every 2 weeks. It shows you're trying to make good on the bills. It's not like I don't want to pay. I just don't have $3,000.00 to toss around.

Call and make payment arrangements if you can. Otherwise see about finding assistance. It will go against your credit f it goes too long without payment and it will go to collection where they will add fees to it and the bill will only get bigger. Don't ignore it pay what you can whenever you can.

In Massachusetts hospital / medical bills CANNOT be reported to crediting agencies therefore will not negatively affect your credit. There has to be other states like this.

That sucks.

I think it's unfair to count medical bills against your credit.

very true.

Its all because my mom didnt qualify for medical insurance because she made 1.50 more than the limit.... I wish she didnt have that or else she could be doing better.

I'm sorry to hear that. Well, you should definitely pay for that. The best way to deal with hospital bills is to pay them immediately. An instant pay day loan may be able to help you with that. When you go to the hospital, it seems like they charge individually for every little thing. You may get another bill even after you believed you had already paid it all. You can get quick cash to help pay for it. =)
