I know the public schools in my area..
It's his child too.

i have seen many private schools with teachers there just to get paid. I went to publice school and had some teachers that to this day I will tell you changed my life. I went to a clean school with intelligent teachers who cared. I have had some babysitters (teachers) that wefre not great. That being said if he is helping pay it I think he should get to voice his opinion. If he is not court ordered to pay for it and this is just a personal choice on your part I think you should use your child support towards it and foot the rest yourself.I am a single mom who doesn't get child support and everything mine need I pay for out of pocket. So when I wanted private preschool I busted my butt for it. So I say not all public schools are nasty or unqualified, But if private is what you wish for I say go for it as long as you can afford it

Elementary and preschool is a jumpstart to her education.. High school is a very important part of a child's education and I think she deserves the very best.

Um, yeah, I'm a public school teacher, my school is clean, and I'm far from inept. I take GREAT offense to your post.

OP if you want to send her to private school then I would suggest that you come up with the cash for it being that it's a luxury. Or look into charter schools.

It is a decision that you should make together. If you want her in public school and he doesn't, that is your dime to pay not his. You get child support, use it for her education. Tradition is not a good enough excuse to make him fork out $$$ that he likely doesn't have.

You want your child to go to a private school then you better be able to afford it. He should not have to contribute to your excessive wants for your child. He should be expected go pay for half the school supplies and school clothes he would have had to pay for a public school.

IT STARTS IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL!

If you are ignorant enough to believe that the foundation for education starts in high school then your private school FAILED you!

It's his child but not his idea. Does your daughter WANT to start over in a new school where she knows nobody? Or do you not care because obviously, tradition is more important than how she and her father feel.

Well, then if his only objection is money then tell him you will pay for it.

I am sure he won't care.
