re: may have to give up :-(

Id try the other stuff first. With my first I had a TON of milk. With my second my supply seemed less and some days non existent. Lactation told me it sounded like it could be my thyroid. I haven't got it checked yet though.

First off, don't feel bad because you are doing amazing. Second, any breastmilk per day is better then none :] If you have to supplement don't feel bad! Your baby is befitting from the immune system boosters you are able to give. Every oz counts.

I would feed and pump right after and stop supplementing.
The more you latch and pump the more milk you will produce.
You can take funagreek and blessed thistle in order to increase your supply fast! It really works! Just don't give up because getting your supply back i possible.

OH, and take a lot of funagreek. Enough so that you smell like maple syrup!

When I had my son I pumped I was told not to use the store bought pumps for the first month, they are not strong enough. I rented mine from the hospital. Also you can consult with a lactation nurse there are things u can take to increase ur milk supply I cant remember what it is though. Good luck!

Just because you can only pump an oz doesn't mean your supply is horrible....I am EBFing a 6 1/2 monther   and I can only get a once or 2 out when I pump it sucks....some women just can't pump well but the baby still eats well off the boob! My son is definitely eating well he's huge! If your baby is producing enough wet diapers you are fine and honestly that's the only sure way to tell

She is, its my health visitors that is scaring me saying she isn't putting enough weight on and wants her to see a specialist if she doesn't put more on, also she keeps saying that she is jaundice and told me to go see a doctor and tell them that I want a blood test right away, I kept trying to tell her she isn't jaundice its the light she is in everytime she sees her, cuz everytime she comes round she sees her in a dipped light which I agree it does make her look jaundice so I told her to take her out in natural light and look but she didn't so I took her to the doctors like she told me
2 and two different doctors said she wasn't jaundice and wasn't going to put her through a blood test for no reason so the doctor rang and told my health visitor that and all I got was a smurffy message on my phone saying she has told the doctor she disagrees with her and still wants the blood test but if the docs won't do it then that's between them 2, grrrrr she really is not a nice woman

Sorry, I don't mean to intrude but that sounds awful! I am sorry you are having to go through this... sounds like she is just scaring you for no reason. If your little one has not lost weight and has gained I wouldn't worry about it much.
Pumping is not an indication of how much milk you make so she would have NO WAY of knowing how much your making unless your little one is not peeing and is losing weight.

If you are worried though you can take the funagreek and blessed thistle as a precautionary measure. It wont cause any side effects or hurt your supply...some people just can't believe that woman are capable of breastfeeding and that breast milk is generally more nutritious then man made formula. Also, BM is the best for Jaundice. My son had it when he was born and the hospital said specifically to not use formula if possible because BM digests faster and they tend to eat more frequently on it.

I also had doctors try and tell me to supplement later on because my son lost percentile(not weight)....I told em to shove it and my son was happy and healthy and went on to BF until 13 months. I hope you can get it sorted out!

Just remember to feel confident in your abilities. You can also see if you have a local La Leche League near you in order to get personal support. It helps a lot to have encouragement in your life! You need to know that every oz counts and if you slowly stop supplementing your supply will greatly increase. I think you are doing amazing!

She sounds a bit immature...I wouldn't listen to her much....just count those wet diapers...make sure she's gaining at least some weight and stop supplementing..you two will be fine <3

Talk to your midwife or doctor. I had troubles and they gave me some natural herb tablet that was over the counter and my milk went crazy after a day or so. Worked wonders! I was at my wits end with a very upset baby! No matter what I drank or ate or how much I pumped. Fennagreek I think it was called it worked and my milk smelt a little funny for a while just saying.
