my first mothers day according to my husband, vent

ok, so I was pretty excited about my first mothers day, so I asked the hubby what he had in mind, and he told me that he would take me and my mom to dinner on saturday and that on the actual day he would go to his moms house, and that I could spend it with my family.......wtf!!! he is my family, his answer was that Im his family but not his mom, and that when sofi grew up she would celebrate it with me, just like he will with his mom, am Iout of line???? I am so fucking pissed cause I was already trying to think of something special for his first fathers day, what is wrong with men?? its not like I said that we couldn't see his mom at all, I was thinking something along the lines of breakfast at his moms and then something nice for me, which would include my mom.....I do everything for our daughter, he has yet to even change I diaper and he can't even think of spending the day with me, at least as a thank you.....

I personally think that's screwy... He can take his mom out to dinner and then on Mother's Day he can spend it with you doing what you want with Sofi.

I would be pissed too...The dinner with ur mom and u on saturday is very cute....but why doesn't he just move it to sunday and take all 3 of you to breakfast or lunch or something and then let a grandma have the baby for the day and yall go do something?
I'm sure his mom would understand him wanting to make sure you had a special first mothers day and if not well then she needs to get over it...but i think it's more him than anything...at a certain point i think all mom's know that their kids are going to have their own kids and everything changes, including mothers day! lol

Just bring it up to him again. Try not to fight about it I understand why your pissed I'd be pissed to. They (guys) don't think like we do I wish they did. In his mind he probaly thinks hes doing you a favor. Just remind him that the three of you are a family and its your first mothers day and you want all of you to be together. He probaly just doesn't see it that way. So its your job to break it down for him so he does. Try not to get to upset I'm sure he will change his mind! Good luck.

Yeah, there are some dumbass guys out there that think you're not THEIR mom, but they fail to see that you are the mother of THEIR child. I'd be sure to point that out to him.

I personally would expect him maybe to go out to dinner with his mom while you are with yours and then leave the moms for a night alone for the both of you........ Hope all works out mommy!!!

That would piss me off too! If Brock was off that day, I would want him to spend time with me as well. He has to work from 10am to ? though. It sucks.

Can't he visit his mom half the day, with you going of course....and then spend the other half with your family? That is how we did it last year.

My husband's side of the family thinks the SAME way!! "Well, my wife isn't my mother. It's the kids who are to celebrate it for her." Hell no! Not where I come from, big boy! He has definitely learned otherwise. Besides, my babies are too young to really know what Mother's Day is all about! I didn't get anything on my first Mother's Day except something from my own mom! How sad is that?! She knew my hubby wasn't doing anything for me so she felt sorry for me! Sheesh.. men!

Lol...I'm single...I've told my parents they should get me a mommy necklace or ring and say it's from Cadence (my daughter). I told them to keep a tab...she'll be good for it in about 16-18 years!  

I don't think my plan worked, though.
