NICU Journey *pics*

My little 27 weeker was born at 2lbs 15oz. She spent 65 days in the NICU during which time she had a heard surgery (PDA ligation). She came home on o2. She is now almost 2.5 years old and doing great. Figured it was time to show some pictures again of how far she's come =D

actually from those pictures at least, that looks like a fantastically good 27 weeker! how amazing it is how strong babies are.

my son was full term, but also had a heart defect. he has had 2 open heart surgeries and is now 6 months and you wouldnt know it unless you looked at his chest. babies are so amazing! and so are mommies

I love preemies....but then again, I'm kinda biased.  
I enjoy hearing their stories, what obstacles they've overcome and the odds they beat. It's amazing something so tiny has so much fight! I call preemies tiny warriors. lol

I love her smile! She's so sweet! Mighty big feet though ;)

She's so pretty. I just turned 27 weeks, I want LO to bake as long as possible but its so relieving to see success stories  

Do you mind if I ask how long was your baby on the oscilator, vent and cpap? My son is 7 weeks now, born at 25 weeks, and just got to cpap. I have been told he may come home with oxygen and monitors and that makes me nervous. His lungs are bad. He just got steroids and was extubated yesterday. He had his PDA ligation a week ago. Im sorry if I am being forward, I just am worried.

She was on vent for a total of 3 weeks maybe. She did a few days at first, then went to canula. However, she had a pulmonary hemorrhage from the PDA and went on the oscilator for about a week until her surgery. Then back to the vent for maybe a week after the surgery. She was only on the cpap for a matter of a few hours, then back to the canula. She came home on o2 and an apnea monitor.
