Ripped Contact Question

okay, here's the story.

Last week, (Saturday) I went to get contacts in Minnesota. I live in North Dakota, but while I was visiting family I HAD to have an eye exam because my headaches were getting horrendous.

I got the Acuvue Oyasis with Astigmatism like I always do. I've never had a problem with them before. I used the same solution. everything the same. I clean out the contact case every day. I take out my contacts every night at the same time.
Tuesday night, I took out my contacts as I always do, same time, same way. they were both fine. Put them in the case. Went to bed. Woke up the next morning at the same time, went to put my contacts in. Got my right contact in just fine, opened the left side, and for some reason the left contact was in two pieces. The contact was NOT like that the night before. and I put them high up, so there was no way anyone got into them.

Is there still a two week "trial" period on them? and if so? does it still stand if I'm not in the same state I got them in, if I go in and tell them what happened, will they replace the left contact?? (I always wait until the two week trial period is over to buy the boxes of contacts in case anything like this were to ever happen)

It depends on your insurance honestly. I ususally buy a 6 months suppply each time I get contacts, I always wear them. I dont think they will replace it though, you are probably just going to have to buy new contacts

Usually they will give you one if you need it. I'd just explain to them what happened

Where did you have your exam at?

It was the trial pair of contacts that wal-mart gives when you have a contact fitting exam. When I had my exam, the doctor said that if anything happens to the contacts or I don't like them to go back in two weeks or less and he would give me a different pair to try...
I'm just not sure if it works that way if I had the exam done in Minnesota (at wal-mart) and am now back in North Dakota (and would go to our local wal-mart)
and we have BCBS

I had the exam in Minnesota at a Wal-Mart and will go to Wal-Mart here to ask them about it.
I'm just not sure if their "two week trial" is the same for all of them.

If you got them through the wal mart optometrist, just go up there and explain what happened, in the dr part, not the other part, and they will give you another one
