TTC after the Mirena?
posted 2nd Jun '12
Im not trying to have another baby right now - I don't want another baby right now. Im only 21 with 2 kids and I don't need/want anymore haha
But I have heard people talking about TTC after the Mirena.
Some say -
#1 - Its much harder to become pregnant if you have had it for so long.
#2 - You are more likely to have a twin (or more) pregnancy.
#3 - If you do become pregnant, you are in risk of a high risk pregnancy...
I wanna know what your opinion is on this. Iv heard a lot of people talk about 1&2 (mostly 2)
ALSO off topic question but - *T*M*I*
I have had the Mirena for a year now. I have not had no period what so ever. I may spot here and there for a few hrs but that is it. Is it normal NOT to have a period if you have mirena? It don't seem healthy to me......

I got pregnant without even having my period after it was removed. After I had my baby (normal pregnancy), I had it in for 2 years and never had a period. I never asked if there were bad things associated with not having one. I was just happy it was gone!!

Its VERY normal to not have a period while on mirena. That's one of the side effects for some women. I had no trouble getting pregnant and I had mirena for 3 years, no issues due to the device either.

I had my mirena placed in April 2010, and removed in May 2011. My periods were very irregular and spotty. We decided to start trying for #2 right away and got our BFP in September. My pregnancy was very normal, and I'm currently nursing my 4 week old son I have nothing bad to say about mirena, except that I had a hard time losing weight on it.
