What am I doing wrong?
Its just clumps of gelled soap, floating in water..
Ugh.

I think you have to stir it everytime you want to use it. I've read online that it's more like a gel than what you usually consider liquid detergent. I make the powdered soap and have not tried the liquid recipe.

I make the powdered soap too, not the liquid kind! per batch it's 2 cups grated bar soap, 1 cup borax and 1 cup of super washing soda. I then blend it all in a coffee bean grinder we don't use for coffee, to make the soap grate to be a fine powder!

I use a food processor and make a triple batch. It lasts for several months. I have toyed with the idea of making the liquid but find the idea of storing it in a huge bucket and then having to stir it before every load more time consuming than I want.

I prefer the powdered too, the slimy/goopy-ness of the liquid one kind of grosses me out, lol
