Today makes 8 days...

posted 1st Jun '12
That my 10 month old has been without her passy.
She was pretty whiney for the first couple of days, but she was also cutting a tooth. She's done amazing. I think I missed it more than she did. I was constantly checking to make sure I didn't forget to bring one or trying to take it out of her mouth when it wasn't there haha.

We're also starting the conversion to sippy cups, which seems to be going pretty smoothly for her. Not so much for me (again) because there isn't a measurement thing on the side of the cups so I have to measure the water and put it in the cup and then mix the formula up, but she's been doing pretty well!

I just wanted to brag for a minute. I hope you ladies are having a good night!!

Jealous! I can't get my son to take anything but the boob and he's 13 months now. At least I didn't have the paci issue though, I've heard that can get rough. Good job keeping it up!! : )

I'm jealous
B is 10 months and It's been a slow road getting rid of the paci. She needs it to fall asleep   Buuuut she is almost fully off the bottle, so I guess that's better than nothing!

I was expecting her to be one of those children that takes one forever and refuses to give it up. She ALWAYS had hers, and she wouldn't go to sleep without one so I was dreading it. She got wore out one day though and went to sleep without it, so I just didn't offer it the next day until she got really fussy, at which point she took it out of her mouth and threw it so I just quit offering it. She hasn't even missed it!!
I never breast fed. I was completely uncomfortable with the whole idea of it, along with co-showering. Until I took a bath with her not too long ago (at 10 months) and realized how much I loved skin to skin contact with her and how creepy it really wasn't lol.

Jealous as well! My son just turned two and is completely potty trained, but still has the darn paci. He looks pretty silly in his big boy undies and a paci in his mouth.

Have you tried wearing her completely out one night and then just hiding it?? That's how it worked with Laney. Completely unintentional, but it worked. She hasn't even missed it.

Aww   I'm dreading potty training as well. I'm sure it won't be this easy lol.
My good friend's daughter was 3 with a pacifier CONSTANTLY in her mouth, she couldn't go anywhere without it, she held it in her mouth while she talked (which you could never understand). I wasn't okay with that so I decided when I was pregnant, as soon as I could get her off of it I'm doing it.

Yeah, but she is a fighter. Fights me to go to sleep every. single. time. It's horrid. She's up a good chunk of the night, most nights too. I think once her sleeping habits improve, I'll stop offering it at nap and bed time. Either that or when she's one, which ever comes sooner.

Haha well you are tougher than I am. I HATE those days, and it's not everyday. She's gotten to where she just whines for a little while, and then she falls asleep. She's not been napping as much now though, so that sucks, but she sleeps good at night.

Your daughter is BEAUTIFUL by the way!!

Aww thanks   Your kiddo is cute too! I love her fuzzy hair
That's our day everyday!! Haha she was such a chill newborn, but as she got older she became pretty high needs. Not sure if it's my fault, or if she was destined to be a pain

Laney was pretty hard to handle as a NB, but they CLAIMED she had colic. Really it was just that her bottles weren't warm enough (because the hosp told me not to use warm water), and it was hurting her belly. About the time I caught onto that and fixed that problem she started teething
She's not high needs though, she's just whiney a lot lol. She's getting sooo much attitude too! I need to find you a picture of her hair lately, it's not so fuzzy now that it's growing

Thanks! She got big WAY too fast. I'm in the process of planning a birthday party already   I really need to cut her bangs I just can't bring myself to do it. I try to keep them clipped to the side but she moves so much it falls every time lol
