Preemie Temp

Just wondering, Any of you checking your preemies temp on a daily basis? What does it usually run?

The doctor and nurses told us at discharge that the daily temperature was a thing of the past.   At-home under the arm thermometers take like 10 mintues to read a temperature, and there is no way I'm taking a rectal temp every day (the two times we tried a rectal temp it was so hard to get Paige to stay still!!!). The doctor told me only to take a temp if she felt too hot or too cold by touch.

Our doctors and nurses told us to still take his temperature but not to let it get down below 97 and above 100 but his temp has dropped to 96.5 a couple of times, and it fluctuates ALOT, he has only been home for 5 days, just wondering if it was normal for it to fluctuate so much, the doctor is seeing him tomorrow, but doesn't sound concerned, just as long as he is eating.
