antidepressants.. Celexa?

posted 1st Jun '12
Hey ladies,
My doctor has recommended that I start taking Celexa to help with my depression.. I have never been on medication before so I'm kind of nervous... I'm in school full time so I don't want to be all spaced out or wonkey all the time...and don't want to gain weight either. Anyone have any of these symptoms from it or have success with another type that I could ask my doctor about instead?

thanks so much.

I am on celexa and it has worked great for me, what mg does he have you on? I didn't have any bad side effects with it. I recently had to have my dosage increased though.

I would be starting on 20mg, but I haven't started yet..I have to decide by Monday during my next appointment, so I wanted to look into it a bit because I'm a bit nervous...definitely necessary though.
Does it help you sleep at all?

yeah it definitely did, I started at 10mg and it didn't help at all, but then we upped it to 20mg and it made a major difference for me.

but don't give it too long, everyone has different effects from it, it might work great for you, it might not work at all, but you need to give it about a month to totally kick in.
