1st Birthday Ideas

My daughter is about to be 4 months and just thinking before I know it she will be 1 because time is already flying. Her birthday is February 11. What is some cute ideas? There will be kids of all ages there. Do I just do food, cake, icecream, and presents or what?

I did cake, ice cream, chips & salsa, and a veggie tray. It was at 2pm-4pm so just light snacks. It was also outdoor and 94 degrees. So I had a 5 gallon cooler of cherry koolaid, and bottles of water.

I'm hoping we will have nice weather, but our weather is so unpredictable.

That is true. But you could do indoors with cupcakes or cake, and snacks. Depending on the time. You're not far from me

I did pigs n' blankets, a veggie tray, drinks, and cake. I had his party at 2:00 so everyone would have had time to eat lunch at before hand, but not be too hungry for dinner. It worked out great! Everyone seemed to have a good time (I had kids of all ages and adults too) and clean-up was easier because I didn't have a bunch of stuff left over. I also did things in this order: Food, some presents, Cake, the rest of the presents. That way, people were eating something and occupying themselves while he opened gifts. Also, it gave him a break because little ones can't handle opening more then 2-3 gifts in a row. They lose interest.

His theme was Barnyard.
We bought cow print goodie boxes and filled them with treats/gifts for the other kids. This also kept them busy during the presents.

I made cupcakes so that I didn't have to spend a ton of time cutting cake. The parents also appreciated the ease of eating these 'on the go' as they chased after their children. :-)
