Slow......

Ok, so, when I was pregnant with my first LO I dilated fast. I was like 75% effaced and 2 cm dilated at 36 weeks.
This pregnancy at 37 weeks I was only 50% effaced and my cervix was still closed. 38 almost 39 weeks Im still only 1-2cm and still 50% effaced.
My doctor told me with your second pregnacy it goes slower, but once it starts "she'll shoot out like a torpedo."
Is that really how it is? Im feeling like she just wants to cook a whole lot longer lol

The delivery process does go faster in most cases.

Im just worried about being extremely unprepared..... well that and she's messing with my sciatic nerve, and it's not a pleasant feeling.

That's how it was for me. I was only 1-2 cms when I went into labour and he was born 5 hours later.

With my first I was dilated to a 3 for about 3 weeks before going into labour.

It just depends...no one can predict labor or how long it will last. My first child i was in labor for 8 hours and he was 2 weeks early, second i was three days early and labored almost 40 hours and third labored 10 hours and was 1 day early nly because i begged my OB to strip my membranes or else im sure i would have went over at least a week....we will see how it goes with the fourth. Well, Im due the 9th. So I have plenty of time to worry I guess lol I just like to have plans for everything. My Dr decided to go on vacation 2 days before my due date, so being put with another Dr already has me worried.

I went into L&D completely closed after midnight... 2 hrs later... Still closed... Had her at 5:39am after pushing through 3 contractions.

She was stillborn and didn't find out until about 2am.
