Cloth Diapers

posted 31st May '12
I feel I must be mis-informed. This is not meant as an offensive statement at all, just blunt I guess. I know plenty of con's to cloth diapers (just because my family has always used disposable). I thought Cloth diapers were kind of an old thing that no one did. BUT this site has shown me that it's much more popular than I thought. Which leads me to believe my first statement. I would greatly appreciate some insight to the cloth diaper, why it's preferred over disposable, please!
No rude comments needed. First time mommy here.

I prefer them soooo much more over disposable. One because of the money I save and two because DD has such sensitive skin that she has seriously NEVER had a diaper rash as long as we've been cloth diapering.

The main reason I switched to cloth is because cloth diapers dont contain chemicals like disposals do.

And, they save money!

Cheaper in the long run. No chemicals. Cute butt. No smelly trash just wash and go. Never run out of diapers in the middle of the night.

Once you get the hang of it no harder than disposables and IMO even easier because I dont have to take trash out just dump in washer and done.

They're cute for one! lol They save money (unless you get addicted to buying all of the cute prints!)
They're better for baby's bottom, and the earth lol. Oh and again the cuteness factor.

If you don't have a washing machine at home would you see this as a complication? I have to wash at a laundry mat.

Money is my #1 reason. My second reason is function. They hold 10 times better than disposables. I thought dealing with leaking poop was normal. I thought having to clean gel smurf off of my babies every morning was normal. And my third, most favorite reason is cause cute poop catchers are awesome

I don't have my own washer. I have about 40 diapers (started with 22 but acquired more over time) and I wash mine every three - four days.

They sell portable washers for fairly cheap.
